Title: Supra 500RX Expantion. Help needed
Post by: chris537 on May 28, 2011, 10:08:03 PM
Hello everyone. I recently scored a Supra Corp 500rx expansion (2mb installed 1mb x 4) for my A500. It seems to be unpopulated. but has 3 IC's on the componet side of the board 71-1a, 71-2a, 71-3c... when i have the little switch flipped in the up position my amiga will not boot up and has a ram error message

When the switch is in the down position boots up fine...

I need to know there is 3 jumpers inside J1,J2,J3. Which is the position these jumpers should be to work, or test mode. not sure. We couldnt find the manual and finding nothing online...

A manual or some word of advice would help. I have the supra hardrive (20 meg) setup and just trying to get more ram so i can run other programs without running out of mem.

Thanx yall!

So can you all tell me what the zip dram #'s would be on the chips to get 4 meg or 8 meg ram. Id like to look it up and see how much the price would be on em if i can even find them.

Thanks everybody!

I suppose you can install 256k×4 or 1M×4 ZIP RAM.
To have 4MB of 256k×4 = 16 chips
To have 4MB of 1M×4   = 8 chips

So i suppose 16 1x4m would give me 8 megs? it looks like it goes upto 8 megs and even saids it on the label, but it dont have an external PSU hookup on the unit which i thought was weird...  or would this one be limited to 4mb?

Sorry for the late reply.
