Title: Amiga and network printer
Post by: mikety on December 24, 2003, 02:50:38 AM
How do I get an Amiga 1200 linked to Linksys router to recognize a network printer also connected to the router?  Thanks.

Look in the Yahoo groups archive for the AmigaSamba mailing list.
I recall there was someone trying to do the same thing a few months ago, but I can't remember the details of it.

Samba is no use if the printer is connected directly to the router, like in the case of my SMC router. In that case, use netpar.device on aminet.

The netpar file can be found on aminet in
comm/tcp/NetPar.lha

useful for IP Printing over a network.

You might also need SPS.rexx. It's a script that properly redirects print output from a spool directory.

It seems like it might perform the same function as NetPar in this case, but I needed it to use my Wintel printer through Samba.
