Is AOS4.1 really included for that price ?

What's the difference between the Industrial and commercial versions?
Will there be any pictures uploaded?
Robert.

I would imagine the industrial version doesn't include AmigaOS.
-
It doesnt hence hundred euro cheaper
-
Way to go ACube! ..these Sam's won't last long:)
-
A good opportunity to get new hardware to run Amiga OS 4.1
-
How much is that in American $$$$?
-

Which I kinda find odd. I thought ACube wasn't going to sell any hardware that didn't come with OS4. Now it does, so does that mean the old agreement/contract is no longer valid?

ACube have always said that they sell their boards to industrial customers; this is just the first time that they have provided a price up-front. Everywhere else they say that prices for the industrial version vary depending on volumes, and that you should contact them.

Type "Currency Converter" into the search engine of your choice to find the current rate. A few minutes ago it came out to $858.033 US dollars for just the motherboard. I did not calculate the conversion for the complete "Lite" system.

afaik the fastest way is to use google and type "599 eu to usd"

Good news! A nice surprise
oh and $599 euro = too much in us dollars :(

What makes this 'lite' compared to the regular 460ex?
(Serious question!)

Currently the Lite board has the same features as the full version, apart the CPU which is clocked at 1 Ghz (1017.5 Mhz to be exact) and the PCI bus which is a little bit faster.
-
Is this sam equipped with altivec unit?
-
Yeah, simple currency conversion works wonderfully on Google. If you want more options theres always xe.com

So I'm guessing these are boards that they couldn't get to overclock to 1.15 GHz.

Nope.
-
$852.74 according to google.

Well, for one thing its running at a straight 1Ghz, and it appears to come with less memory.
All in all, still a nice system. I don't think 599 euros is too much.
-

I don't think the SAMs have AltiVec.
-
I usually do not talk about those so-called next gen amiga as it is not my stuff, but this thing is outrageously overpriced for yet outdated modern hardware, don't you think?
-
@Xanxi
The point is that ACube is offering the Sam460ex - Lite version for a lower price than the original Sam460ex. The Lite version has slightly lower clock speed and less RAM memory, but can be upgraded to the full 2GB of RAM at a later date, whenever the user is ready to do so. This simply gives another choice for anyone who is interested in OS4.
This price is certainly much less than I paid in 2004 for my MicroA1 motherboard bundled with OS4.
