A604
Memory Expansion (and more) for Amiga 600
The new memory expansion card A604 for the A600 offers all the features that its predecessor A603 (http://siliconsonic.de/) already had:
- 1 MB additional Chip RAM (expanding the A600 to 2 MB Chip RAM)
- battery-backed clock
- clockport for A1200 expansion modules (*)
- Expansion socket for Indivision ECS (http://siliconsonic.de/)
The A604's new design allows to mount an Indivision ECS without losing the floppy disk drive (which was a problem with the A603 card). Additionally, the A604 now features a second clockport especially designed for the Subway USB controller module (http://www.vesalia.de/e_subway.htm). This second clockport can boast a performance gain of 60% compared to a standard clockport, so the Subway's USB transfers are faster than ever before.
(*) Only clockport modules with a cable can be used, e.g. Delfina (http://siliconsonic.de/), Catweasel Mk2 (http://siliconsonic.de/), or Silversurfer Limited Edition (http://siliconsonic.de/). When using the second clockport, modifications to the metal shield may be required (if the shield is present at all).
The A604 can be installed through the trapdoor bay on the bottom without opening the case. However, it is recommended (and may be required) to open the case when installing additional modules.
For operation of the real-time clock, a coin cell (type CR1220) is required, which is not included (but can be ordered separately).
Item currently not available, ETA June 2011.

Nice, will definitely get this for my ACA A600.
-
Fantastic! I will definitely be getting one of these and another Subway (already have a Subway in my A1200/060) with it for my ACA630/25 equipped A600.
Thanks Jens, for fixing the A603 so I don't have to remove my floppy drive from my A600 and also speeding up the Subway USB performance with a better clockport.

Great! I'm also getting one of these nice upgrades!
-
So frustrating! Now I need to find myself a nice A600...

Great... now all we need is a tradein program for us A603 owners. :)
-
mm...must purchase..
Will be nice to retain the internal floppy drive.
-
These are great news! :)
Especially the feature that removes the problem with Indivision and floppy drive: it was very annoying.
Many thanks for your work Jens!
A good mate for my still unexpanded A600!
-
What a nice surprise! Will definitely consider getting this, even though I already have a 1MB expansion...
-
Woot! Sign me up for one to put in my A600/40.

Looks like there will still be issues fitting cables onto the Clock Ports, while using as Flicker Fixer as well. :/

The angle of the flickerfixer card look to give enough room for a clockport cable to be installed without too much hassle.

Awesome!!!
Now i am going to use at last my Indivision ECS in my A600 but i still have to convince myself to cut my A600 case for that.

I love how Jens solve a problem just to more or less introduce it again. Move the flickerfixer port so floppy doesn't need to be removed and add another clockport, that, if you want to use probably meens you need to remove the floppy anyway to fit the extra hardware. It's cool though to have options so it's all good. :D

It looks like the right side of the board is really a breakaway raiser board for the 2nd clockport. Is that correct?
