Title: Catweasel and Winuae 2.3.1
Post by: Motormouth on May 01, 2011, 03:31:59 PM
I have a Catweasel MK4 installed on a windows XP machine.

The catweasel has been working for years and continues to work with the imagetool 3.2
and V 4.26 windows drivers CWMK42600.zip
both with my amiga disks and c64/c128 disks.

But as for the WinUAE amiga side, I have been having problems.

I recently upgraded WinUAE to 2.3.1 and cannot seem to get a catweasel disk drive to properly mount in WinUAE.  I do have the catweasel z2 tick box checked.

During the V1.4 ish generation of WinUAE mounting a cat: disk with multidisk.device v3.65  worked quite well,  I upgraded winuae several times between, 1.2 and 1.4 generations, with no problems.

I did find the following from the english amiga board.  I guess others are having problems also.

Anyone else have this problem or have any solutions?
Do you think I should e-mail Jens and/or Toni about this issue?

One note:  The catweasel gameports are still working well.

P.S.:  Otherwise I absolutely love version 2.3.1 of WinUAE.   CD32 emulation is working well  and I like the quick profiles and the ability to easily mount CDs and .iso files.

Wow, that's really weird. I pulled out my old system Saturday with your same setup and also couldn't get the drive to work in Winuae. I forget what version I originally had, but, I upgraded and still couldn't get it to work. Even though I can use the utility to create .adfs from the floppy and CW_Config.exe shows the card and the drive, kb, ports, etc.

I can mount it but it just keeps saying there's no disk in the drive even though there is, and I don't get the clicking sound anymore.

@wlemonds:
Thanks for the reply.  It looks like it may be a problem with WinUAE.

I am going to e-mail Toni at WinUAE about this problem.

I also hope that Jens writes some 64 bit drivers for catweasel on the PC side.
It would be awesome to put the catweasel in a windows 7 machine.
