@Magnetic,
Last time I talked to Franko, I believe he had one.

hmm u are just like him a loser, and make unnecessary and irrelevant posts. Get a life and try to be helpful to fellow amigans not a jerk.
-
Ahem, both Smerf and Franko are complete odd balls, that is a given and are Amiga purists. But I have noticed that when it comes to helping a fellow Amigan with Amiga related problems, they are MORE then willing to jump into the fire and help!
The fact that Franko does have an obscene amount of Amiga hardware / software would lead me to believe that he does have one of these Live boards AND would have been more then happy to help...
But you just kicked his best friend in the nuts for trying to help you AND called both of them losers!
Good job.:pissed:

Not sure where your reaction to other posts came from, maybe they were former Atari ST users?
About the hardware at hand, yes it requires an external power supply, much like the GVP gear that went on the side of A500's did, but with a strange connector. I have one and can measure the voltages on the pins tonight. I doubt you will be able to find the required plug, but there is always the ugly and dangerous hardware direct hack.

@mag
My A1000 has a cltd scsi sidecar and a comspec memory sidecar and a live 1000
no extra power needed. I used it with mandela and other live stuff.
IF memory serves...certain 1000 needed a pal fix to pass power thru to the sidecars?
be cool, cooler, cold

thank you so much. the a1000 wont even power on with the live attached to it. It looks like a proprietary plug too.
@ sacc guy
can you send me a pic of your live setup please?
-
guys any response?
-
Does the power connector look the same as the A500 LIVE! board?
http://amiga.resource.cx/photos/photo2.pl?id=live500&pg=2&res=med&lang=en
Maybe we can find some sort of docs for these cards and it might have the power connection pinout. Does it say on the PCB of the board inside the expansion?
-
HI omni!
Thx for the response. YES thats the same port! I havent opened the box yet.. wow looking at the a500 live and the a100 live I may have the a500 one. I bought it from a guy who said it was for a1000. And according to the spec the a500 version needs a psu which I dont have??

True, and I've still got it but it's of no use to me these days... :(
-
It looks like a standard molex or amp connector.
You would either need to get docs or open the case and see if you can find some markings indicating the plugs. Two are ground and the other two are either 5, 12 or 5 & 12 volts DC.
Here is a Amiga program that work with it. Cyberscrape.

Here is a link to the software that shipped for the LIVE! boards for KS 2

Maybe some of the email links might work and some of those people know the power connection.

Really cool thx for the links.. I actually wrote the author of Cybrerscape a couple of months back no reply..
Do you think you could help me fab a psu for it?

Hi,
@Franko,
Last time I will try to give any help to this guy, I believe in one of your back posts you mentioned it, all he had to do was ask.

Why would I leave?

Is there anyone out there with a LIVE! 500 board with PSU so we can know the voltages?
