Hi guys.
I have this problem, if you can call it that way :) :
I was really stupid and tired (the normal me) and plugged my video cable accidentally to the serial port of my a600. Then I turned on the power to notice what I had just done, and immediately turned the machine off.
The serial port had one pin bent so it touched the "shield" of the serial port.
I twisted it back to normal of course and powered the system again.
Just a black screen, and caps lock light on, no blinks.
I thought "oh crap, what have I just done" and left the power on for a while (about 2 min's) and suddenly the system booted fine to KS 2.05.
Now when I cold start the machine it always takes about 30 sec. to get the KS screen. I would like to know what is causing this and will it destroy the A600 if I dont do something to the slow booting ?

Oh boy, this seems to be happening to all the A600s now! It happens to mine and to a few other people I have seen on the forums. I'm pretty sure it's time to replace the capacitors, hopefully then it will boot straight away as soon as it's switched on.

Thanks for the info Cammy.
I'm also afraid when the caps are going to really give me trouble. I checked all the caps but could not see any leaks anyhow...
But this did not happen before I messed up with the video cable.
The world of classic Amiga's is full of wonders :).
