Title: RCA Modification A600
Post by: megamouse312 on April 19, 2011, 07:07:33 AM
Alright, I've been staring at this motherboard trying to figure out where the Audio signal and ground come out on the RCA connectors........
normally I'd look up the type of connector and work from there but I can't figure out what type of jack these are!  Anybody else modify their A600 in this way?

What modification do you want to do? The A600 already has audio out via RCA jacks.

Do you want to install new RCA jacks in there?

Perhaps look at the schematics and use a multimeter. The A600 uses switching RCA jacks, so that if you plug a cable into only one of them, both channels will come out from that jack.

I'm actually adding 1/4" Jacks so I can mix the two channels down to mono.  Unfortunately the DMM is out at a friends house at the moment

In this case, why not just plug in a RCA plug -> 1/4" jack cable into one of the RCA jacks and bob's yer uncle?

One reason is so I don't have to worry about different types of cables for a performance.

Worried about performance? You are going from stereo to a mono plug!  You are intentionally trying to lose performance!

I cannot understand why you would not simply buy a cable to connect your rca's to your mono equipment.  How would that lose quality? I mean, will you not have to use a cable to connect your modded jack to your equipment anyway?
