I just ran across a project to connect an Amiga floppy to an intel type PC. it's:
[FONT="]Amiga Floppy Reader v 1.0f (c) 1997, Marco Veneri
Has anyone built this? With what sort of success. Looking over the PCB, it looks like it might actually work. The down side is I can't find any references to this project anywhere.

If you wanna read Amiga disks on a PC the drive ain't the problem...

I've not built one of those among the many other hardware hacks over the years. But if you're only interested in reading Amiga floppies on a PC there are other and perhaps easier options....

Is this the project: http://afr.back2roots.org/ ?
Haven't seen it before, I just was curious.

Not where I found it, but it sure looks like the same project.

What I need is to load real Amiga programs from floppy into a windows machines running AUE. Although the link you provided says these options will work, I have never had any luck.
I guess biting the bullet and buying a Catweazel is the only easy answer.
