Was wanting to order something from them but wanted to confirm some details first so dropped them an email. Over a week ago now, anyone else used them before?

I believe it's a one-man outfit that's nowadays a hobby business. It might take a bit before you get a response, and the website is very outdated. Joe is a nice fellow though. I bought my first Amiga from them sometime around '91/'92.

Suggest AmigaKit.

I have ordered over the years and recently from softhut. Always delivers as promised. I leave a message and he calls me back within a day or two.

Phone is better than email - although you should leave a voice message. It will not sound like you are leaving a voice message at a business, but its the right number. He'll call back.

Joe will do you right. Just make sure you make contact with him before ordering. Amigakit is also a good option, but don't be scared away from Software Hut. They have been in the Amiga business almost since the beginning.

I've used Software Hut a few times over the years and always had good service. Better to call or email them first as the quantities listed on their web site aren't always accurate.

bought my Indivision AGA there a few month ago. Most of the products are out of stock. The shipping to europe was very fast (about 5 days, expected 2 - 5 weeks)

Thanks guys, will hold off for now then. Usually buy stuff from amigakit or Vesalia both are fantastic, response is usually quick. However in this case soft hut had something listed the others didn't but if the site is not up to date then he may not have it anyway :-)
Postage is slower through Amigakit, Vesalia is very quick. Fastest people I've bought from are 3071michael and airey36.
Alinea is another great dealer :-)

Totally agree with dannyp1. My experience with Joe (Software Hut) has been very good, slow on communication, but very good on business dealings. Give him a day or two to get back with you.

You are all right, Joe is a good guy, but he's busy with other businesses now and has virtually no amiga stock left.

All true. He was probably the last to try keeping a 'brick and mortar' Amiga business going in the U.S., and until he had to let his technician go, maybe the last in the U.S. to actually do Amiga hardware repairs and upgrades.
Of course he had to send my dead Apollo 040 back to Germany for repair, where it has not been heard from since :-(

I've dealt with Software Hut several times, the last one being a bit less than a year ago. Everything went fine. As others have said, he may not respond very quickly but he will and he is good and fair. I got an A1200 68030 card and it worked great!
I've also had many more dealings with AmigaKit and they've all been great too!
Good luck!

I have had some dealings with him before. Bought an Amiga 1200, a SCSI tower and stuff from him before. He is a little slow on communication, but he always delivered my orders and actually they came faster than I expected.

Wasn't new gear, was a an accelerator for an A500. Was hoping that he may still have it, but most sites selling Amiga hardware are not up to date with the exception of course for yours and Vesalia.
TBH those are the only two websites I like dealing with, I tred into the Ebay waters now and then for the odd item and haven't had much luck with amibay.
