Post by: amiga4000freak on April 10, 2011, 02:33:34 PM
Here i have a amiga 4000 030 revision b motherboard.
When powering her up is fine just when it shows insert disk screen i move the mouse and it starts to crash ending up with guru error code 8000 0004 saying software failure task 07c03270.  It loads up fine even with hardrive attached just when i move the mouse i get there problem.  Any ideas would be usefull

After your earlier thread about the issue, I'm pretty much out of steam with this one.

Try another mouse. I've never heard of a faulty mouse crashing the system before but you never know.

In the end, you might try stripping the machine down and carefully reassembling it, making sure everything is properly seated.

I've seen this sort of thing, but not on a 4000. It was the Agnus chip in that case. I've also seen an 8520 do it. Some of the few 4000s I've seen seemed very sensitive to the seating of the CPU card.

Found out that the u975 chip is responsible for controling there mouse and when there as been a battery leak it can damage the chip so will be replacing it if i can find out where i can get hold of one if anyone knows?.
