a bit offtopic.. I have connected a 73Gb SCSI U320 (80pin) drive with an adapter to 68pin. but it doesn't work. Do these drives also need termination jumpering?

Off topic? This is pretty darn on topic compared to a lot of the active threads these days! :)
Are you connecting this to a Cyberstorm board? You need active terminators at both ends of the chain (Terminator -> Cyberstorm -> Drive -> Terminator). And the Cyberstorm is a picky controller. You might need to play with the firmware settings and other jumpers on the drive to get it working. Took me quite a long time to get my newest drive up and running!

U2W, U160 and U320 drives (all LVD devices) do NOT provide any means for termination so you will need to use a cable terminator or put another drive with termination option at the cable end.
Some SCA2 adapters (80 pin) have integrated terminators as well. As long as you're not trying to run U2W+ speeds you don't need an LVD/SE terminator, as simpler SE will do (preferrably of the active flavor).

I have the same problem, I tried all possible configuration on the 80pin adapter but without success.
My configuration is:
- Terminator
- CyberstormPPC
- Seagate Medalist ST51080N 1.08GB (w/ 50pin adaptor)
- Plextor 820Ti (w/ 50pin adaptor)
- HP/Compaq 36.4GB Wide Ultra 3 SCSI (w/ 80pin adaptor)
- IBM 9GB (69pin w/ Active Terminator)
Every time I lunch Media Toolbox it freeze when scanning the HDD.
Do you have any advise?
