Title: Todays 2 player amiga gaming
Post by: runequester on April 01, 2011, 07:48:44 AM
Showed off the amiga to a buddy of mine.

We ended up playing Transplant for almost 3 hours. Definately a case of "just one more go".

Had a pretty good game of Alien Breed special edition, and I showed him Qwak and Hired Guns though we didn't play those two in multiplayer.

Next time, we'll probably do some strategy games.. Space Crusade or Warlords seems likely.

Please let me know what Space Crusade is like to play. I never ever got the chance to play this yet ;)

Cheers. Bloodline.

Its based on an old MB/GW board game.

Up to 3 players command each a team of 5 space marines. You can select different weapons and gear, and there's 10 or so missions (10 more with the mission disk).

Its turn based, each marine can move and attack once per turn (more with special orders). Pretty high random factor. A lot of fun though. Your sergeant earns experience and gains rank too, giving you more stuff for each mission.

If you have 32 MB of RAM then you can't go wrong with Total Chaos AGA 7: Conflict of the Battlemages!

You can have fun lobbing hand grenades at each other or you and your friend can play on the same team (you each command your own units) and throw hand grenades at the computer controlled monsters before they overrun your position.  Do you save your buddy from the fire demon and risk your own death?  Or do you let him die to ensure your own survival?  If you let him die will he still be your friend? Or will he "accidentally forget" to pick you up at the airport next time you need a ride? :roflmao:

You can play with Exploration (fog of war) or not, the choice is yours.

14 sextillion difficulty levels.  If you are an expert military commander then you can always increase the difficulty level to keep the game challenging.  You can increase the difficulty by:
A: Make the cpu players smarter
B: Give the cpu players more units/buildings to destroy
C: Put more players on the enemy team.  I play 1v7 with all 7 enemies on the same team.  I am sure you are not tough enough to handle that but you could try 2 friends vs. 4 wizards or 2 friends vs 8 generators.  If you are a newb then I recommend to fight generators.

I like to play 2v16+ with my bro.  We really have to talk a lot and plan out our defenses and attacks.  Its a really great teamwork game.

"Teamz for tha winzzz" put up a 3 minute example game of Total Chaos AGA 2v6: (2 people vs. 6 generators)

Love the board game, but Lemonamiga says it's one player, so I've not bothered playing it. I take it you can play with 3 marine teams and one chaos?

The computer controls the bad guys, but you can play 3 players for sure.

On the topic of total chaos, I have 64 megs of RAM. Will it run okay on an 030 though?

Yes!  It may have some slow spots but it definitely will work on an '030.

Still haven't played this yet. Is it like the Gollop brothers original? or is this something completely different?

yes, it does :)

Its one of those games where you see it, and go "huh, thats it?"

Then you play it, and 50 levels later you are going "okay, just one more!"

The music on the title screen is awesome too

Thanks, plays just like I hoped. Are the sound effects sped up in that vid? Or are they supposed to sound like 'worms'?

@chaoslord
Good job mate, certainly worth a lot of play.

The videographer of Total Smurf Chaos is crazier than Franko. :D
He sped everything up to make a quick video.  That is why the anims are freaky and the sound is smurfy :)

There are other Total Chaos vids on that channel with normal sound.

I am thinking of adding a highspeed sound option to make the game sound like that video.
