Hello. I wonder if my internet provider is blocking my access to amiga.org website. Its been like this since May 2010 when I changed my Internet provider. I can access amiga.org thru my mobile, at work.. but not at home? Anyone knows what I have to do to make Amiga.org work from home again?
-
Did you change your router too? Might be a router issue?
-
I can't log onto Hackaday at the library or bradsprojects because of filters.
It could be a spyware issue or maybe a spam issue.
I would log into your router to see if Amiga.org is blocked.

check your host file, possible hijack (virus/trojan) with a redirection to a banned site.

Hi,
My internet provider blocks it to. Seems they think that it has something to do with some Spanish gay site. I had to call them and tell them that it was a computer site. Also check and see if you have your child protect feature on, which keeps them off of porno sites. Like I said a lot of providers think that it is a gay porno site.

Check to make sure the site resolves. Then try to perform a tracert (or traceroute for Linux and Genesis, miamitraceroute for Miami.) You can also try connecting directly to port 80, try other computers in the same network or using the same Internet connection.
Here's my nslookup:
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: amiga.org
Address: 174.132.193.125
Aliases: http://www.amiga.org
If it doesn't resolve on your end, try using DNS servers other than what your ISP provides, like OpenDNS or Google DNS.
If your ISP is blocking AO and they won't fix it, take your business elsewhere if you can't defeat the block.

Thanks for many repplies. Funny I dont have this issue with amigaworld.net or morphzone.org. There is nothing in my router blocking. My net is Fibernet 25mbit both ways. Amiga.org got blocked few days after I changed from cable to fibernet. I am in Norway so IP's dont block sites because they are for gays or whatever.
-
Can you get here by using the IP address?
-
Using just the IP address to http://174.132.193.125 won't work - the web server doesn't know what you want.
If DNS is the problem you can add a line to the etc/hosts file (location depends on your system) like
174.132.193.125 www.amiga.org
You'd need to adjust the IP address in case a.org moves elsewhere but otherwise it'll do the trick.
-
If my IP blocked a site because it was a gay porno site I would change IP. I'm not gay but I damn well refused to be nannied by fascist self appointed moral morons. For goodness sake, what century is this?
Apologies for going off-topic but geez, I'm shocked.

They should be forced to use Windows Phone 7 until their eyes bleed blue.

He should be getting a Host Gator page otherwise the IP is blocked.
