Team 17 offers up their amiga titles for download on the Dream17 site, but they are pretty much all cracked versions.
Since the lads are nice enough to share their old games, does anyone happen to know if there's ADFs of the uncracked versions out there, for use with WHDload?

There are, but you'll have to find them yourself, that kind of info is not allowed here... :)

actually, this might be exception, given that team 17 DOES offer downloads of their games themselves :)

trouble is if you post a link to the sites where you can find the original "uncracked" files your also posting a link to lots of other ADFs that are "cracked" versions on the same sites... :(
(PS: whats wrong with the ones Team17 offer for free ???)

ah true.
The problem is that the ones on the Dream17 site are generally a cracked version, which I understand will cause trouble with WHDload.

Usually you'll only have problems with such disks if you use the slave files from the Official WHDLoad site, but there are plenty of other sites where you can find slave files to work with the cracked versions from the Team17 site, heck I've even written a couple of the slave files myself for them... :)

I have only ever owned one T17 title, so I am not sure about this, but...
...isn´t there a possibility that the copy protection won´t transfer well on ADF? This happens to be the case with SEUCK for example. So there is a valid reason to use a cracked version.
-
Thats possible too, though at least some of their titles didn't have copy protection, as I owned some of them on disk way back when.

The WHDLoad installers are designed to work only with non-cracked games, to stop people installing pirated games.
Because most games are simply standard disk images with one copy-protection track, WHDload images all the tracks except the protection track, and disables the check for that track in the game.
In other words, it doesn't solve the problem of satisfying the protection, it disables it completely - so a normal ADF would be just fine.

Not always the case, for example The Chaos Engine. I purchased the AGA version (mainly out of nostalgia for the original copy I had). Disk 2 is corrupt, so I went "looking" for a replacement adf for it. This ADF would not load at all into whdload.

Does Dream17 also have IPF images? Those should work with WHDLoad, but I'm not sure you can use them on actual Amigas yet (i.e., I don't know if diskimage.device supports them). They work great within UAE, though, so you can install them with WHDLoad under emulation, then copy the installation back to your Amiga.

Some time ago on the factor 5 site all turrican games was free for download, i dont know if still having it.
-
on real Amiga, IPF are only supported for slaves that use RAWDIC (stated usually in the readme, if you care to read !).
