Just joined up on this here forum so I hope I've posted this in the right place! Quite pleasing to still see a fairly active community after all these years. :)
Joined up as I've found myself pining more and more for my old Amiga lately. No other machine has had me as creative - perhaps connected to being a teenager at the time - my Windows PC's are pretty soulless and most of the time it's just internet and watching movies or something.
I had an A1200T up until about 2007 but had to sell it as I was moving away. I've used WinUAE on and off for a few years, feels decent, but it's not quite the same (but it'll do!) and found my old OS3.9 CD that I kept back when I sold the system. So I've installed that to a winuae setup and gonna go about installing various old CU Amiga coverdisks (for some reason I kept the floppies but sold the CD's!) via the adf downloads. Going to stick Imagine 4, Cinema4D, VistaPro and whatever else I remember using on there. So if there's any handy tutorials for those I'd be well grateful.
Mags wise, I was always a CU guy (quite active on the old cu-list too) and bought those right up until they closed, then moved on to Amiga Format and then finally Amiga Active - but didn't stick with the latter very long tbh.
Anyhoo, after that preamble, what is and isn't acceptable here? Amiga has technically been dead a very long time but I dunno what the stance is on requesting software/games etc etc?

Hello back.
The usual rules apply, as far as forum posting. No personal attacks, no caps locks SCREAMING, etc.
Requests for free software are not allowed as far as direct links to Warez and such. There are plenty of other sites that do that. Lemon Amiga for example.
This site is mainly the place to come for advice on how to best get the most use out of your hardware (if you have any), or watching the Classic WB/AOS4.x/AROS/MorphOS/CUSA flame wars. Enjoy.

Welcome, I hope you'll enjoy your stay here :)

Welcome back into the fold. ;-) Amiga is a hard habit to break. Long Live Amiga!

Welcome aboard!
Dont let the drama discourage you :)

I swear Amiga is like smoking, it's a hard habit to break for some reason, even if it is dead corporately. And I think that's one of it's major appeals. It's not main stream. It's not money/greed driven, it's love...
...and lots of fun flaming in the forums. :)

Cheers for the welcomes. Meant to get back here sooner but had studies to deal with. All over now so can scope out the pages.
How is the community these days? Had a look at Amiga Incs pages to find they yet again have repurposed themselves... as what I'm not sure (were they even sure?). Regardless, it's not anything to do with the Amiga we loved so... meh!

Welcome to this forum and the Amiga community.

Are there any old CU Amiga mailing listers about? Might jog my memory a little.

Seems my last post to Yahoo Cu list was May 18, 2002 . Time flies...

Welcome to Amiga.org
A word of advice: The moderation on this site is infamously over the top.
If you ask for what they deem as "warez" (i.e. Games that have been out of production for 20 years and are unavailable to buy legitimately), the posts will get deleted and you will get an infraction.
Apart from the over-zealous moderation, the people are really helpful and friendly.
Enjoy your stay.
