After two decades at the helm of annelid annihilators Team17, Martyn Brown has left the Worms developer to work as an independent video game consultant, according to a post on his (private) Facebook page, as noted by Eurogamer. Brown co-founded Team17, which got its start developing games for the Amiga (before your time?).
"I had an amazing 20-year ride and whilst it's the end of a truly enjoyable period of my life, it equally signals the start of a really exciting new one," Brown posted before swinging away on a grappling hook, throwing a grenade, falling on that grenade and blowing himself up.

Ah, a midlife crisis! He's probably shaved his head, bought a Harley and started dating an 18 year old tattooed barmaid with pierced nipples!
:D

That sounds like fun, I can't wait for my midlife crisis!:afro:

20 years is a long time to stay at any one company.
My mid life crisis shall be spent in Brazil where I will be on undesignated maneuvers.

My favorite team 17 game is superfrog from '93
-
Lots of great games from those guys. Dug Superfrog. LOOOOVE the alien breed games. Enjoyed Assassin and Project X quite a bit.
-
Yeah T17 did at least try to use the chipset unlike many others in the 90s.
-
I usually pull out Alien Breed as an example of a "classic" amiga game. Lots of speech, lots of stuff going on, two player mode, a killer tune on the title screen, and loading times werent even that bad.
Just awesome :)
also, team 17 don't seem to have been scared of 2 button joystick either, so thats a plus!

I justed posted about this on the chaosengine game dev site, and started a massive row!
