Title: Old Skool Basic on Android
Post by: persia on February 01, 2011, 06:48:42 PM
My new obsession is becoming tablets.  An Android' Flytouch 2 is my latest play toy.  I was looking around and found an implementation of Dartmouth Basic on Android!  It's at http://www.appbrain.com/app/basic/com.rfo.basic (http://www.appbrain.com/app/basic/com.rfo.basic).

I just downloaded Nethack as well.  Oh, happy days.

Android is so much cooler (and more affordable) than the Apple alternative.

Not to mention you don't look like a pretentious jackass.

iPad is fun too.  I'm not about to settle in one camp or another.  Since the price of Amigas has climbed I've started playing with various tablets.  There's just something comforting about them.  Basic is the comfort food of the IT world, I'm looking forward to playing with it, maybe getting some old games running.

Not when you use a dialect such as FreeBasic and pull out full pointer based programming
