Title: New Blog article: Getting your Amiga ready for AmigaOS 4.1 Classic
Post by: HammerD on January 28, 2011, 04:15:55 PM
I have published an article on the Hyperion Blog entitled "Getting your Amiga ready for AmigaOS 4.1 Classic".

The link is here:  http://blog.hyperion-entertainment.biz/?p=138

Any comments and/or feedback is appreciated.  I can certainly update the post if anyone else has some good ideas to add to the article.

Thanks!

Just read your blog interesting...

Having bought OS4.0 Classic for my BlizzardPPC/060 and being sorely disappointed with it (too slow in my opinion), I notice in your blog there's no mention of GFX Card being required.

I've never managed to get hold of a BVision card yet and Karlos has told me this makes a big difference in running OS4.0, Just wondering if there have been some major improvement in 4.1 that would make it run at a reasonable speed on my set up without a GFX card... :)

I'm still a bit dubious though about Hyperion after how quickly they dumped support for those of us who bought OS4.0 Classic... :(

It will run on AGA but a graphics card is highly recommended.  The experience is totally different with a BVision PPC, CV PPC or (preferred) a compatible Radeon card on a PCI bridge (mediator or prometheus).

Yeah, Karlos kept telling me that but I still haven't managed to track down a BVision board yet... :(
