OK, so today I ordered an Indivision ECS and a MiniMegi for the A500 from AmigaKit... Yippee! A couple weeks ago I popped in a Super Denise which I guess I'll take back out and put in the A2000 for the heck of it. I'm pretty excited about using an LCD on the 'ole A500 and keeping it on OS1.3. I currently do have an A590 that works well but I can't wait for the ACA520! Internal IDE will be awesome! That'll give me a SD/CF option (hopefully) for ADF transfer too! The ACA520 looks very interesting with the (possible) ability to piggyback an A1200 accelerator. This seems like a fairly straight forward project but I want to document anyway. (Along with tearing my A1200 back down and documenting as I need to check out some Escom quirks)
Which leads to my next question.... I need to buy a digital camera. I want something with a decent macro and possibly video. Has to have a good optical zoom too. There are some great cameras out there like the Panasonic Lumix or Canon SX30IS but I'm not sure I want spend that much. I've been to several camera forums but you can't really get an unbiased opinion as everyone just touts their camera as the best - since this forum would probably be unbiased on cameras I'm looking for suggestions for you peeps! What do you use for macro, optical zoom and video? Thanks much!

I don't mean to get your hopes down, but the IDE port on the ACA520 won't be useful for swapping files, it can only be used as an internal boot drive, even with a CF card on an IDE adapter, it won't be hot-swappable. However, there are USB and SD reader projects for the parallel and serial ports, so if someone ends up building a batch of those you could use one to swap files back and forth.
Sorry I can't recommend a camera.

I've got a Nikon L110, it's not too bad for $200. 12.1 megapixels, 15x optical zoom.

I do wonder, since you already have the A590 if you could keep your OS on that and use the internal as a "second" drive, which you could remove and mount in a PC with WinUAE to transfer files.
As Cammy says, it wouldn't be hot swap, so you'd have to down the machine for the swap. If it's an IDE port (I haven't really looked at the specs for the ACA520), I suppose you could run an IDE cable long enough (but not too long) to reach just outside the case to make the swap easier...
I've seen people mount their CD cards for their A600's that way, so they can more easily update them with WinUAE.
No idea if that would work, but it's a possibility..

Ahhhh, thanks for that info Cammy. I'll probably go with a clock port and Subway then.
That's not a bad camera for $200 there Tone007! I was just checking it out on Amazon. How's the macro on it?
How about battery life?
Thx!

The A590 won't work with the ACA520.

Panasonic or Fuji for a good quality CCD. >price = >quality

Okee Dokee! I was hoping to stop using it anyway. Thx!
It's a clunky 'ole thing. I did put a SCSI drive and newest ROMS & RAM in it though.
A good Candidate for ebay!
