Hi
My fastlane Z3 does not boot up correctly in my 4000D. The boot screen shows up showing that 1 out of 2 parts has a problem. It appears to be the memory part. I have tried the corect jumper position, but to no availble
ANy suggestions will be appreciated
System:
4000D with 16mb
Cybervision 64
Buster 11
Usual: Cd, Zip, floppy etc.

So without Fastlane there´s no problem and with Fastlane WITH memory on it then you get problems ?? What happens when you remove the memory of the Fastlane ?? What happens if you leave the Fastlane inside WITH memory and remove the Cybervision64 ?? If that still won´t work then try to remove things to see if there´s something malfunctionning. That´s how I try to deal with this kind of problem. If you finally boot up with no gfx card and no hd and no floppy, with only the minimum, and you still get an error about your Fastlane then there seems to be something wrong with that card.

Gaeokerena,
I recently ran into the very same problem you are describing with a recently aquired Fastlane and my 4000D. The memory portion of the card kept appearing as defective upon boot. I tried it with 64MB, and with the no memory jumper option. I also tried all Zorro slots and also a rev 3.1 and rev 3.2 A3640 card. I even replaced the rom with the v8 rom. It was the only card in the 4000D at the time, too. Nothing worked.
I took a second Fastlane out of my 3000D and tried it in the 4000D just to make sure the 4000 was okay. The good Fastlane worked, of course, with both the rev 3.1 and rev 3.2 A3640. Out of curiosity (or frustration), I took the bad Fastlane and put it in the 3000D. The 3000D also had the rev 3.1 A3640. In the bottom slot, it gave the same error. But in the second slot up from the bottom, it worked... and has been working ever since with 64MB of RAM functioning. I ran memory test programs on it to make sure it wasn't just a fluke.
So there you have it. It did not work on the 4000, but worked in the second slot up on the 3000. I don't know why, or how, but that's what happened.
