Title: DENEB and CSMK2 USB booting
Post by: Damion on January 22, 2011, 09:59:19 PM
Just wondering if anyone has had success with the above. With a CSPPC installed, I can boot from USB without issue. With the MK2, no devices show in the early-startup, though they pop-up as soon as WB has loaded (unlike the 3640 which requires the stack be restarted).

Seems like the documented CPU caches issue, though I've since added the nocaches module to the DENEB firmware.

Any ideas? I must be overlooking something simple...

Complete system specs:

A4000D rev B - buster 11
CSMK2
PIV (early bridge and flifi chips)
DENEB, v9 firmware, Melody on the clockport (works great!)

I also have a CSMKII and a deneb, and after changing the startup-delay of my usb stick I have no more problems.

Try to change the startup-delay setting in trident prefs. I've set the startup-delay of my usb-stick to 500, because I had similiar problems.
If you change the setting, don't forget to reflash the deneb flashrom, or else there will be an old version of psdstackloader in the flashrom.

Yay!

I was focused on the MassStorage startup delay and missed the boot delay setting. (DOH!) I set both to ridiculously high values and it worked. Just a matter of fine-tuning now.

Thank you!
