Hi ALL!
Since I'm looking for user feedback from my little app LoView(hope that someone out there know it :) ), I'm opening that thread/poll...
Also done a similar thing on AmigaWorld but, honestly, dont get really many feedback...
Hope that here I've much luck :)
Simply relpy to the poll and let me know what do you like/hate/I've to make better in LoView...
Also If you dont like it at all and why plz...
EDIT: plz also let me know the AmigaOS flavour/version do you use of it...
Thank you!

already posted this bug to you before but I still get a guru almost everytime I go from full screen to window view under Os4.1u2.
I know it was mentioned before that it might be Hollywood related..any news on this?
Other than this annoying bug, Loview is a nice robust viewer

Unfortunately no news atm on that weird bug that occur only on Sam440 AmigaOS...
We are investigating but no solution found atm...
However I'm really curious what will happen when AmigaOS4.1 update3 will be released...
Can be also AmigaOS4.1 for Sams related...
Sorry to cant solve that issue :(
Here (before A1SE and now Peg2) never get any poblem like that! Or better...never get ANY problem regarding Hollywood stability...

thanks for the update Simone...I hear that we'll be getting update 3 when OS4.1 for classics comes out so hopefully that will solve this bug. I'll let you know then

Hi, i just tried the WOS version under os3.9,A4000/mediator/csppc 060/604e/233 ...
Upon starting it i get a error for a missing font:
Cannot open font :::chunk1532480:49224*bitstream Vera Sans Mono/ram disk: LoViewWOS/LoView with size 14!
File:LoView.hws (Current line: 405 - In function: OpenFont)
Also just tried the os3x version and roughly the same error, same missing font.
this was just a quick and dirty test. i see at the bottom of the docs i am missing freetype2.library and pngalpha.library..my fault- RTFM ;)
Ok,installed the font/png libs and the proper fonts.. all works ok.
My first impressions are it seems to work well, its a bit slow, but this is common with apps coded for near 1ghz+ machines with modern fast ram and i'm on the old 604e/233. Picshow is still king of the CSPPC viewers under os3x/ppc (its quite speedy).I can zip through pictures as fast as i can hit the arrow keys for the next pic with picshow, but loview is not too bad even if it is a bit slower. Its working well in my tests.I am glad you implimented the arrow keys this is such a nice thing. If u can optomise it for speed,it would rank up there with picshow. On my quick and dirty test, picshow startsup using 8 MB ram,and Loview uses about 13MB. not really a concern, since i have plenty of fast ram but i thought the comparison might help you.
I do notice one thing that seems a bit odd, when i load a picture into loview, and just let it set there, my fast ram constant changes like something is working in the background, the ram seems to go up and down a bit(but within 1MB).. this is not a bug or complaint,i was just curious what its doing?
the zoom feature is very handy also.i like it being tied to the +and - keys directly.
You have done a very nice job on this prog. I hope you keep improving it.

Hi and thank you for trying LoView :)
Unfortunately on classic hw due to not fully WarpOS hollywood implementation(it uses WarpOS only for some tasks but the OS related was still 68k...) the speed cant be so much...
I think tha t you can test the MOS version under MOS 1.4.5 and see exactly how fast itis :)
Also you can consider to use it on forthcoming AmigaOS4.1 for classic I think that on your system (MOS and OS4.1) it can be really nice to use :)
Consider also that LoViewThumb it uses JPEG photos Exif data to create thumbs so you can look at rather many big(10Mpx or much) thumbs faster and easy...
Dunno if you can load it with I guess "only" 128MB...
For the speed/memory weirdness/problems I cant tell you anything since the program was coded in Hollywood and so I cant control it really at all(I can control it in many things but not in all...)
Regarding PicShow never tryed when I've OS3.9 on A1200 BPPC160, but my preferred image viewer at the time was ShowPPC(really fast and esasy to use/configure)...under OS4 I used it since LoView was born :)

LoView works OK on my SAM (OS4.1u2). There are some things I don´t like about it, but I have done some things in Hollywood myself so I can understand some of the limittions. And given the circumstances it is quite decent: I currently don´t know of any other viewer I would recommend over LoView for OS4.
Keep up the good work.

@lsmart
Plz explain the limitations/problems that you've encountered...
I want to know it and see what I can do...
Thank you for feedback!

Well, friend tuxedo the answer I think that it isn't necessary, I like and prefer my Eye Viewer for OS4 and 68k, because it works as like to me.
-
I use ShowGirls. Nicer, faster, smaller, more powerful.

It's nice enough (LoView), but seems to have too much filler content and padding for my tastes. I like my picture viewers to be nice and straightforward (and efficient) and little more than something to view pictures. I've never liked transitional effects, etc. much. Picshow all the way for me :)

mmm...
Have you noticed the LoView SimpleView mode?

Voted 'No', because I have 68K+AGA, for which I use meynaf's viewer V.
