-
Hmmm... PPC - too bad it won't work in my 3000. Hohum.
-
as i am currently have a crisis of faith, i should be left alone to bid for that item and have my love for the amiga renewed. ahhh go'on its christmas. i dont have a girlfriend and noone loves me
-
If i get it you can have my one! :-)
-
for free? as a christmas present? cool. i hope you win it on ebay in that case :-D
-
Oh dear...
Anyone wanna bet what it will go for?
I say £350.
-
i want an XMAS hat also!
-
350 would be a NICE price if so...
i have seem em go for 550 ....used...
and yes...in 2003 :)
-
550UKP? That is insane. You can buy them from a dealer for less tham that. Vesalia or AmigaSuperBit, for example.
-
Anyone wanna bet what it will go for?
id say around £240 to £250. :-)
-
@amigamad:
That sounds about right. I've just added a little spice to my guess though as I predict a huge bidding war as this item is quite uncommon, even on Ebay. :-)

there u go man, a hat and some holly :-D
-
@mantisspider:
Hehe, very nice.
-
x56h34: nah u cant, well if u can Show me a link to a shop that has one, and remeber it must be 060 with 240mhz and SCSI...
vesalia has none i tried them in may and later in august, i called all over the place for one...
i found some in the us (NEW) but by then my team had ppc cards so i stopped the search...
anyway if it stops at 240 quid then its one lucky buyer if u ask me....simply the best card u can get for your amiga.
-
Manti:THANX!! :DD
-
@lempkee:
OK, so Vesalia seems to be out of stock. Then the last resource would be AmigaSuperBit, providing that they indeed have what they advertise on their website... 491EUR which is ~346GBP. 060 - 50Mhz / 603e - 240Mhz + SCSI. Here is the link (http://www.amigasuperbit.com/indexcataloge/612.htm).
-
just cos they have it on the website doesnt mean they have it. oh they will take ur money, but do they really have it? eeeerm if they do, then thats good then.
-
It will go for 265 UKP+ for sure... what are we betting for?
;-)
-
Hehe, good question. How about :pint:?
-
Man. I paid about 300 UKP for my BPPC603e+ 240 / 040/25Mhz back in 1998 :-)
I really wanted to get the 060 version but it was sky high price then :-(
-
:-o
£172.00 already! I got the feeling that Mr Nutz is right!
:-o
-
Was I close to my estimate or what? :-)

Hehehe:
$603.66
this would be nice for that card as it is 603PPC ;-)
-
Whoever bought it for that price must be nuts!!! You can buy a new for that price. :-o Or even a microATX ppc machine (well, soon).
-
I'm afriad you're wrong, you can't get them brand new anywhere anymore. I did find a website not so long ago advertising them (can't remember the price now) and apparently they had 2 left in stock. I sent them an email immediately showing interest in aquiring at least one of the cards, but recieved no reply. Following that I sent two more emails but again no reply. To be honest I'd be suprised if they'd really been on offer as brand new anyway - all the cards were surely snapped up a long time ago, or went West after DCE went bust.
I think £350 is quite a lot of money to pay, you're right, but we're talking about the highest speccd accelerator card available for the Amiga at the moment, and they are extremely rare in that anyone who has one wants to keep it, you rarely see them for sale. Bidding was tough on that item, there were a few people interested and willing to pay a lot of money for it - I think that's a good thing we can be positive about. I mean, the Amiga market is obviously STILL bouyont enough that people are willing to spend money on their machines.
As for me, that accelerator pretty much finishes off my main A1200 - there aren't many ways you can improve on my setup anymore! Not until (if/when) Elbox release their range of SharkPPC cards anyway.

Now they just need to overlock the 68060 to 66MHz...
-
You were right about the price of the card .For that price i could have built a whole pc or bought a pegasos these high spec cards must be very hard to find while not as fast i am happy with my 2 blizard 200mhz ppc 040@25mhz cards one was bought new the other was just 50 pound with 64 meg of memory and was sold as faulty but worked fine in one of my a1200.s. :-)
-
The Blizzard 040/25 PPC603/200 is actually what I have in my flagship Amiga at the moment, so I'll donate that to my other Mediator based A1200 now and the PPC/160 that's in there will go down to my ZorroII based A1200.
I'm quite eager to get the SCSI working to be honest as none of my current PPC cards have a SCSI bus on them. Also, I used to own an Apollo 060 card which was extremely fast so I'm looking forward to getting a fast workbench again. Trouble is when you're used to 060 speed it's not very nice going down to an 040/25, even if it is on the end of a BPPC.
:)
