Hi All,
I have 10 Amiga 1200s for sale. Each A1200 comes with WB3.0, 2mb chip and a 170 mb IDE hard dive. 9 of these are Amiga Technologies (made in france) versions and I have 1 Commodore (made in Phillipines) version.
I only have 1 PSU and 1 Mouse (that I used to test each system) so I am selling the A1200s without any PSU, mouse etc. All you need to do is get yourself a spare PSU. All units are 100% working, they are not crap. Each unit is loaded with WB 3.0 and ready for expansion or to be used for spare parts on your current A1200.
I am only asking $100 AUD each for them plus your choice of postage anywhere in Australia.
PM me if you're interested. Payment via direct deposit or paypal (you to pay for the paypal charges).
Cheers
Corrie

You have no idea how tempted i am... :(
But i just don't have the room or the cash to buy one of those babies. I'm afraid i am stuck using WinUAE for the time being :(
Out of curiosity whats the difference between the commodore and french Amigas?

I'm not sure, other then the french made versions are from Amiga Technologies. Perhaps someone else has more knowledge in this area?

Pretty sure the Amiga Technologies models used modified PC floppy drives instead of standard "Amiga" drives which could cause the odd incompatibility with floppy based software. Obviously not an issue if you plan to WHDload everything.

Now who said Amiga was dead? :)
-
All systems sold!

It'll be interesting to see how many of these turn up on eBay.com.au in the next few days/weeks! :-)
You'll have to excuse the cynic in me!
-
Dam saw this thread too late!!! oh well but i too think a lot will be on ebay at 200+........ like the numnut who has had a black A1200 (cracked case where he dropped it) for $499. lol!!!!
-
This seems like as good a place as any to post my continued rant about hoarding in the Amiga scene, LOL. People with 20+ computers make it pretty much impossible for the rest of us to afford 1, haha. ;-p
-
To a degree I agree with you. I have no problems with people having multiple Amiga's. Theyre not rare, but not common either, so having a spare or 2, as well as having a few in use is fine, but it'd be nice if some of those people that have dozens would be willing to share from time to time :)
That being said, and this is also partly in response the people expecting some of these to end up on ebay, Im happy to have finally gotten myself an a1200 again after being amiga-less for so long. Im certainly no hoarder, nor will I be selling my a1200 that has come from Corrie (ie. this thread)

Got mine today!
Thanks Corrie :)

Thanks Corrie :)
Very jealous... still waiting on mine :P

Pretty sure the Amiga Technologies models used modified PC floppy drives instead of standard "Amiga" drives which could cause the odd incompatibility with floppy based software.
There is also a difference in the keyboards. One of the Amiga1200 revisions had problems with several keys pressed at one, that was easily noticable by the people who used ProTracker daily. I think the bug was fixed in the later A1200 models.
-
Got mine today. All in good nick and works like a champion. Demo burning at the moment.
PS: this won't be on eBay. It's come to a good home. (Out of the flood zone)
thanks Corrie.

Its a very clean unit, you will be pleased!
With you, myself and fishy; that's 3 heading south to Victoria... I wonder where the others are headed?
-
I received mine today as well. Found a few nicks and scrapes when I looked for them, but all in all much nicer condition than I expected. Very minimal yellowing too :)

I've sent them to various towns in QLD, VIC and NSW. I've got a few emails so far from people who have received theirs, everyone is happy and seem suprised that they are in such good condition. As I first mentioned ALL systems were tested and working before they were sent by registered mail. I wouldn't sell them if they didn't work ;-) I thought $100 was a fair price that's all, doesn't mean they are crap!

I just expected the case and keyboard to be in worse condition than it is. I still expected it to work fine :)
p.s. I forgot before, so thanks Corrie :)
-
Ive been toying (against all logic) with getting another A1200 lately. It's good to see people like Corrie selling good hardware for sensible prices. If I hadnt missed the boat it wouldve been an almost impulse buy at that price.
But, then I'd have to track down all the essentials again and spend hours getting a new collection together.
So, good thing I missed out. I'll stick withWinUAE for a while longer.

Despite my slightly sarcastic previous post (sour grapes at missing out? :-)), I'd still like a 1200, if anyone in Melbourne has one for sale... :-)
Cheers,
Mike.

Yeah it was a pretty negative comment and I must admit there were some sceptical buyers, but what would be the point of trying to rip people off and charge more money? The reason I joined the Amiga scene many moons ago was the feeling of family I got knowing that there were others who shared my interest and "spoke my language" so to speak. Now there are another 10 Amigas floating around the community and that's good news as far as I'm concerned. Now some people have an extra system or two that they might be able to build on and hopefully show a newcomer to the Amiga. Maybe I'm dreaming but you need to be positive. The bottom line is that all systems were sold in full working condition, no gymicks, no tricks, an A1200HD for $100, that's it :-)
-
Im glad to see that (thus far) none of these a1200's have made thier way to ebay to be sold at an inflated price too :)
-
@Corrie,
You're right, of course and I apologise for lowering the tone of the thread!
And I reckon you've done a great service - as you say an A1200HD for $100 is more than a bargain.
Cheers,
Mike.

I already had a decked out AT A1200. But it had an unevenly yellowed keyboard and case face. It used to be semi enclosed in a metal case. (Video unit). So the yellowing stood out where it used to be exposed.
Now I have a decked out mint looking AT A1200, And a spare fully working unit just in case.
Thanks to Corrie, and a hundred bucks.
Just out of interest Corrie didn't these AT A1200s come out with 3.1 roms.. You don't have some spare A1200 3.1 roms for sale do you..?
Cheers and thanks.

I originally thought this too but I was told that the first edition AT A1200s did come with 3.0 roms. The only thing I have left here is a PSU and mouse that I used to ensure each system was working. No roms, sorry mate.
-
Just curious for a good story - where did these machines come from, if you don't mind me asking? :)

*Cough* *Cough* I have a professional eprom burner. Actually I've tried backing up my 1.2, 1.3 and 2.0 roms onto a large sized single eprom thats switch selectable. (Already got legit original roms) Turned out great!

I must admit there were some sceptical buyers, but what would be the point of trying to rip people off and charge more money?
I have to say when I first saw these on Amibay, I first thought OMG cheap a1200 must buy,
Then when I read this guy had 11 A1200's combined with 2 post count on Amibay I was like.. geez this is too good to be real..
Anyways Corrie was very very prompt with his communication and I took a leap of faith..
Cant be any happier, it is strange for someone to have 11 a1200's especially Ami Tech ones since I dont think they were officially sold here in Australia :)
-
Thanks to my Grandma for sending me the money for Christmas to buy myself a new A1200 to replace my yellowing one. And thank you Corrie for the lovely new A1200! I'm so happy I can have a presentable Amiga to take demonstration videos with. Now that I have a spare A1200, I will send it off for repairs, retrobright the case, install some good software on it and sell it on to someone else who needs an A1200 to use, while I keep my nice shiny white one. :)
Here's me with my new A1200, thank you so much Corrie, it arrived the very next morning after I paid!

Arrh Cammy it looks just like mine.. But I'm not going to post or pose for a photo. I couldn't hope to compete with those Amiga socks. (o:
@darkage : Re: The AT A1200. Heaps came over wholesale for video/announcement board generators and controllers. Could be the source?
@Corrie : NP , Genuine 3.1 roms for $23 at amigakit with $4 postage was too good a deal to pass up.
-
*looks at his yellowing amiga.*
*looks at cammy's pristine one.*
I am so jealous, I wish I got one, though I would of wanted the one made in the philippines though, easier to justify to my wife, since she was made in the philippines too. ;)
Nice amiga socks too.
I should retrobright my case. I bought it from my High school, 14 years ago, it was dirty back then. :( silly school kids.
