Title: For trade: The famous A500 Tower

A while back a I ended up with the famous A500 tower in a trade. I thought it would be a cool system to have as my lone classic Amiga.

After months of tinkering with it and troubleshooting I just can't get it to work.
It powers up, all the light come on, the hard drive spins up.

One of the problems is I dont have an Amiga monitor to use the RGB port.
I've been only on the composite. I get a signal on the composite but only a blank
screen. You can even see the screen jump when you push the NTSC/PAL toggle switch.

I never hear the machine boot up and I never get an early startup screen when
I hold down both mouse buttons.

would anyone want to trade me something like a stock A1200 for it and see if they can get it to work?. I'm not really an Amiga expert so maybe some else would like a crack at it?

Its a loaded A500. It has:

3.1 roms
a GVP A530/030 with 8mb of ram
The 286 expansion on the A530
SCSi Hardrive
Custom tower with all leads to the back.
internal 56k modem w/ serial port switcher
CDTV keyboard
CDrom
SCSI syquest drive
Amiga Mouse

The original case for the A530 is long gone.

All PM's have been answered. I have one potential trade pending.....

Post by: spihunter on January 05, 2011, 12:14:55 AM: It looks like the trade is going to go through. The person I'm trading it to wants to keep it intact. That's what I really wanted. Maybe they can post better pictures/screen shots if they get it working.
