Title: SCSI devices
Post by: quenthal on December 14, 2002, 11:37:25 PM
I'm considering to start using only SCSI-devices by buying SCSI CD-Rom drive. Currently, I have multiple SCSI harddrives, and I use my A4000's inbuild IDE-controller only for my IDE CD-Rom-drive.

What I would like to know, is that can I disable the IDE-controller? Would it speed up booting, when there would be no need for probe possible IDE-devices? Would there be any other advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks!

It would be cool if there was hw-fix for this, to speed up even cold-boots.
