So, how was Christmas, everybody? Did you all get what you wanted?
I was going to post, but I had a pretty long day, including an 11km round trip walk (in ankle deep snow) to drop off presents at relatives, one set of whom has recently moved to the unexplored southern reaches of town. No problem, thanks to google maps but I didn't actually realise it was that far, I mean this small town just doesn't have any location that far from anywhere else. Or so I thought  Must be getting old, it took me over 2 hours.
What google maps didn't (and to be fair, couldn't) indicate was just how many of the streets in that end of town were sans any kind of street sign
I can now join the ranks of technophiles that have phones with more processing power than even their fastest classic amiga (my old phone used a 200MHz ARM, pipped to the post by the BlizzardPPC).
Oh, 15K posts. What did you expect, a speech?

All Hail The Mighty Karlos... :)

A little bit of Amiga related history has just been achieved, a day when people will say where where you on December the 26th 2010 at 11:58 am when Karlos made his 15,000th post... :)

Just added :-
I've Been Waiting All This Time And Thats All You Have Say Is "how was Christmas everybody?"

Was there a point to that, or were you just trying to be offensive?
-
Sorry. I did a google search for worshipping someone so i could an image in there and that's what came up. I don't get it either. I think it's cute! :)
Sorry if any offence :)

Happy Christmas dude! Glad you had a good one. I got a cool pair of leather biker-style boots (which go surprisingly well with my current 1930s era clothing), a battery-extending iPhone case, a Tefal Quickcup (:D), some iTunes vouchers and of course the mandatory sweets, chocolates and biscuits.
Oh and congrats on the 15k. What, you expected a fanfare? ;)

Well, technically I don't celebrate it (at least not as a religious ceremony, but I suspect that's true of a lot of people these days), but my family does and frankly, you need a bit of cheer this time of year ;)

No, but it was a bit amusing to see the reaction my sudden retraction generated
My plan was to just keep posting as normal but land on 15000 on Christmas day.
However, after this christmas day stroll (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Jesmond+Gardens&daddr=54.6959655,-1.2378186+to:54.69146,-1.25252+to:54.66242,-1.22405+to:54.67666,-1.22318+to:Jesmond+Gardens&hl=en&geocode=Fc2bQgMdLELt_w%3BFR2YQgMdxhzt_yl9nWRag_R-SDEhqxPNnvkMEw%3BFYSGQgMdWOPs_ynPHAQdoPR-SDGBXPrXnvkMEw%3BFRQVQgMdjlLt_ykTgGDoCfN-SDGQjRPNnvkMEw%3BFbRMQgMd9FXt_ymT9duPnfN-SDEwquTXnvkMEw%3BFVGaQgMdjELt_w&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=5&sz=17&via=1,2,3,4&dirflg=w&doflg=ptk&sll=54.696177,-1.227669&sspn=0.003224,0.009645&ie=UTF8&ll=54.682763,-1.220169&spn=0.051604,0.154324&t=h&z=13), I didn't feel the need

^ in some bizarre Escher-esque topology, the entire route seemed to be uphill :D

I'm an atheist, so I enjoy the presents and the food ;)

Made you feel important did it? Like a big important man? Pfft...

Oh god, I watched Inception last night and now your map has sent me into an existential crisis! How do I know I'm not asleep? :nervous:

I've just toddled down Elwick Rd, I bet that's a dark creepy place at night... :)
PS:where the snow !!!

Nah, that area of town is actually quite nice.
PS:where the snow !!!
Everywhere. Just not on google street view ;) Pretty much half of the walk involved walking along the road itself, the remaining half was divided between snow up to your shins or compacted, virtually frictionless slippery icy stuff with just a deceptively thin veneer of regular snow on top.
In short, it was not a well advised journey under the circumstances. Good job I didn't take my brother's dog as I'd planned to. I am not sure he would have made it; he's not exactly a pup any more.

Pigs and apes bro......

Nope. Being important makes me feel important :P

Never mind that, you should try walking it in the current conditions

Well, that's my shift for today done.
Yesterday was just another work day...
I've only been at this job a month and a half and already I could do with a break

No, and if I ever express any kind of interest in that group or the LDS lot you have my personal permission to beat me liberally about the head with the blunt object of your choice ;)

Hasn't gotten above zero here for a week or so.

The usual meh-ness. Spent christmas with a deteriotating cold. My left ear is in a constant state of buzzing and pain-not-severe-enough-to-complain-about pain. Did get an electric tootbrush I'm quite happy with, oh and an ipad from work. I'm still despising the crappy os and apple bullshit but there are quite a few cool games available.

How very dare you! Lol
Red 'til I die! :D
