Title: Parity on CD Rom drive ?

I have a new 12 speed SCSI CD Rom drive that does not work.  I noticed that the parity jumper was missing.  Does the Amiga use parity on CD Rom drives?  The CD Rom drive is a Plextor PX-12TSi.  SCSI ID is 3 and I am using Asim CDFS 3 with Workbench 3.1.
