Title: Sim City
Post by: motorollin on December 20, 2010, 02:25:29 PM
I've never played Sim City before, so when I saw the iPad version on sale for 59p I went for it. I just have one question: is this game supposed to be fun? My residents constantly whinge that they want more stuff or a nicer environment, but I can't afford to pay for it. If I raise taxes, people leave. If I cut spending, people leave.

This isn't fun, it's just making me angry!!!!!!!!!

I guess the simulation is too accurate.

Can you loosen drug laws in your city?

Yep, it feels far too much like real life. Now that the initial excitement of my power station blowing up has worn off, I've had to take out a 25,000 credit loan to buy a new one, and can't afford to repay it. So I just have to pay it all off and then wait until I claw my way back to the black on the tiny surplus I have each month. Until then, I can't do anything except listen to my residents whinge.

This game sucks!

I guess the old Shift + F-U-N-D-S cheat doesn't work on the new version :)

If Sim City for the iPad is anything like the iPhone version, it's nothing like the original.

Gotta love the >1 €/$/£ sale by EA. I recently got an iPad from work and hated all the Apple bullshit (I mean, itunes needed to even switch the device on! fsck you apple) but I'm surprised by how much fun it is as a gaming device.

Simcity I have planner to delve into coming christmas when the family starts to get boring =).

Hehe, it might if there was a keyboard in the app ;) I've restarted now, and allowing my OCD tendencies to flourish by lining everything up in neat little boxes appears to be keeping my residents happy

This just makes me more annoyed I don't have an iPhone or iPad, just an ageing Android phone with no Sim City.

The closest is a free rubbish game called Saint Feint City, that has a lumbering interface and just crashed my phone. Hurrah.

Is there maybe a web version you could play on your Android device?
