Title: CDROM Drive Install

Hi all.

I'm working on installing a CD ROM drive (IDE) in my Amiga 4000 here and I don't know how to get it to work in Workbench 3.1.  I've installed it, the system seems to know it's there (startup makes the lights blink and it seems to check before it goes to load workbench from the HD).  

I've never had a CD drive in an Amiga so this is a first for me.  How does one make it go in Workbench?

WB3.1 does not understand ATAPI devices unless proper drivers are installed. Look for IDE-Fix software drivers (shareware) and your drive will be easily recognized in OS3.1 afterwards. You will also need a CD Filesystem in order to access the contents of your CD drive.

Do you have got a cool scsi controller on your A4000 like a Fastlane Z3 ??? If so then try to connect a cdrom to the scsi controller so it will take an impressive load of your processor.
Get an IDE controller. Powerflyer Z3 from Elbox is the best and comes with an install floppy that detects everything that is connected to the 2 IDE ports !!
