I'm not sure if this had been posted before, but I just confirmed that Rainboot has been released as freeware from June 15, 2010.
The author, Andreas Falkenhahn, has put these words into README file:
"As I don't have any more time to maintain this program, I decided to release Rainboot and accompanying programs as Freeware. A free keyfile dedicated to the Amiga community is included in this archive. Live long and prosper!"
Thanky You, Mr.Falkenhahn, for this noble act.
Rainboot3 can be found at http://www.airsoftsoftwair.de/en/down_legacy.html
There's also a nice pile of other Amiga software, perhaps also gifts to the Amiga community.

That's great news to have a new freeware program, but i do not know anything of Rainboot.
Could you explain what it does?
-
I think it's for making custom splash screens for AmigaOS 3.x. You may be able to import old RainBoot programs into Hollywood (commercial software) for graphics card support as well.
-
Perhaps, he will gives us a new version of Hollywood and he leaves to update this program to work and to have more time for Hollywood.

For the benefit of people joining this party late, you can still get the download from https://web.archive.org/web/20110618042742/http://www.airsoftsoftwair.de/en/down_legacy.html
