Title: Looking for chips
Post by: Heiroglyph on December 01, 2010, 06:19:55 AM
I'm trying to fix an A4000T for a friend and I'm missing a few chips.  It looks like the drive cage got loose and knocked off some chips at some point.

I'm looking for:
U460, the video dac, ADV101 or VP101 (PLCC44), whatever is available that will work

These are on CD32, 1200 and 4000T's.

And the Zorro PAL, P702.  It's a PLCC20 programmed to be part number 391199-03

As far as I know it's 4000T specific and I have no PAL programmer but I might be able to find one around the office.

If anyone has sources for these, I've got the other chips I need.

Thanks

Heh I used to worked for the team who designed the VP101 in Plymouth UK. Zarlink stopped making this chip in about 2002 but sold all their back stock to http://www.rocelec.com where you can still buy them. Price may not be too good though :(

There is a tiny sliver of information here : http://www.amiga-stuff.com/hardware/pal16l8.html

AFAIK there are no binaries (JDEC) or sources for A4000 PALs :(

The only source code and binaries I've ever found were for projects worked on by Dave Haynie and the A4000(T) wasn't one of them.
