Quick note.. a little hasty on the "This will most likely be the last episode till the New Year." comment. We will be likely doing another show or two.

In fact we are trying to line up some developer/coder interviews to round out the year. Any suggestions?

* OWB 1.11 for Morphos Released.
Is it just me or did this section come out totally botched?

Seriously guys, OS4 OWB is nowhere near the MorphOS version... I get the impression that no-one in the team has actually used both.

I would like to see interviewed (in no particular order):-

Joens Schoenfeld (of Individual computers, developer of countless Amiga hardware such as the Indivision AGA/ECS, Catweasel, ACA 1230/630 Accelerators and many more)

Harry 'Piru' Sintonen (developer of WhichAmiga, Blizkick, cnet.device, and of course, MorphOS.  Probably one of the most knowledgable technical Amiga people out there).

Peter 'Xeron' Gordon (author of many Amiga scene productions under his 'Mr. Tickle' pseudonym, Hivelytracker, and prolific Amiga OS4 developer - he used to guest on havok scene radio quite regularly and is a genuinely nice, very entertaining, guy)

I think they would make very interesting guests.

I believe I actually admit this in this episode or in a previous episode as I have no machine capable of running OS 4 or MorphOS.

I think I did comment that it was like "apples and oranges" on the show when asked if it is like the Amiga OS version. That was me trying to be as politically correct as possible. But you are right - I haven't used both and don't plan on it.  :)

Sure, that's fine. What I don't understand is that how did it turn into this:

- Does version 1.11 how does that equate to the OS 4.0 version 3.20/3.30?
- Apples and oranges... Apples and oranges...
- So it literally does relate that it's that far behind?
- Yeah
- Okay
- Alright, alright
- You gotta get started somewhere
- ... I believe it's little bit behind...

So am I wrong to understand this in a way that just because the MorphOS OWB version number is smaller than OS4 OWB version you think that the OS4 version is better?

I hope I understood this conversation wrong. The MorphOS OWB beats the OS4 version in every way I can think of. It really is a complete browser with all the features you can expect from the browser. This unlike the OS4 version that never was supposed to be anything but simple compile of the OWB tree, and lacks even the basic features such as download manager, password manager, cookie manager, fastlinks, session support, content blocking and so on. MorphOS version even comes with comprehensive HTML5 video support, and has a flash plugin available.

Currently the MorphOS OWB is easily the best browser for any amigoid platform.

It sounds like either you did or I most certainly did. Yikes. But what I said I must have assumed that the other guys caught my drift. I really must have 'spaced' on that one - and was probably doing another task at the same time. Honestly - shame on me for not picking up on the fact that nobody else was on the same page as me. If this was the case, I am a fool for nodding along oblivious.

@Piru

For god sake nobody said the OS4 version was in any way superior to the MorphOS version, give the whole my browser is better than your brower thing a rest.

@Piru

For god sake

I'd rather leave your deity out of this.

Well apparently my english isn't as good as I thought it was. I was fairly certain that it was implied that the MorphOS version 1.11 was inferior, and "a good start".

Go figure.

It sounds like guy who was being interviewed thought version numbers had any relation to each others... so mistake was in considering OWB 1.11/MorphOS was inferior to OWB 3.40/OS4 because it had smaller version number.

I don't know how you prepare for your show, but perhaps a little research on the main talking points wouldn't hurt.

See comment #10. I certainly have egg on my face as I apparently was not paying attention to what was being asked. I feel rather foolish and there will certainly be some sort of clarification on the next show in a couple of weeks. I certainly do wish I was part of the audio editing process on that one.

/me runs and hides in a corner.

It should have been called OWB Ultimate Deluxe Hot Panties Edition so we would have no confusion.

Finally got a chance to listen to this new one. Nice job.

Yes call the trolls out by name and website...

Cover more stuff.

Give out websites for more info on what your covering that would be nice.

What's the deal with the "Splatter Joe" show via the RSS feed for ART all the times, via itunes?

Some metal video podcast that's just unbearable to watch - and I'm a metal fan, lol.

What URL are you using for the feed?

There's separate feeds for all the shows and one main feed for the WHOLE website. For just ART, you would use the following feed: http://www.amigaz.org/category/amiga-roundtable/feed/

And I'll let Joe know what you think of his show. I think that is what he was going for. LOL
