i need more icons (software/disks etc) for my aos3.1... not from highres 3.5 or 3.9... i need lowres icon in 2 or 4 colours max that fit the original resolution of aos3.1. i also just got flashcard (sd) for my pcmcia card i dont have poper icon for that either.. so if anyone know a place to download more icons for aos3.1, it would be great help..
i plan to keep the aos3.1 as barebone as possible to save chipram so no mui and that stuff..

you said it there.. the quality vary.... looks like i have to make some of the icon myself... what good icon maker is there for amiga? any good suggestion?...
and is there a viewer of the amiga .info files for windows??... makes it a lot easier to go through 100 of aminet icon files..

IMO there have been some wonderful icons in the Kick 1.3 days. But they aren´t in collections, so you have to search through many PD-disks to find them. And you have to recolor them, as the palette was different to AmigaOS 2.0/3.1.

IconEdit and inspiration is really all you need. I have made dozens of my own icons with it. Shy away from converting other images - the quality won´t stand up to your expectations.

Not as far as I know. But you can use UAE to view them on your windows box. I always felt that there should be some kind of workbench replacement for Windows, but was too lazy to write one myself. Maybe I should try to write an icon-reader in Hollywood someday, but I don´t expect to have it ready any time soon.

The PC version of DOpus handles Amiga icons. There might be a few other tools, too, but the names escape me.

why not installng MagicWB ? this way you get nice icons (in 8-colors AFAIR) and plenty !

My friend and I are working on a tiny 4-colour iconset for Workbench. It will come with heaps of different colour presets, but here's the one I like to use:

The filesizes of the .info files are smaller than the original ones, but I think they look more detailed and colourful. The whole screen is still only 4 colours.

Laceless (http://aminet.net/package/pix/icon/Laceless) is what you're looking for.

Oh,:) exchange pink for orange, green or blue and remove the hearts backdrop and I would have liked this look on my A500. The icons are neither too playful nor too boring, which can be a difficult balance. I prefer the classic roadside trashcan to all these office paper basket thingies however.
Nice job!
(BTW. IconEdit was of course called IconEd in WB 1.3 and had a slightly different UI)

@Cammy
pink desktop colors is just not my taste.... i am more looking for the same old gray boring original wb3.0/3.1 theme but with more icons.... i like the old gray office rat look...
@kolla
i will have a look.....

Looks cool. ;) When it will be ready?

I must admit that those 4-colour-icons look very promising - nice!

@A1260
Yes, but they're kind of hard to find since there's no name for that icon style :(
