Ok guys,
All this talk about the cassie has me curious,so i ripped the top off mine and yanked the 2 roms and the PIC chip out and read them out on my bp microsystems eprom burner.I also took it apart and took some half baked pics of everything.
First some background.My machine has the DV(firewire) option,and rendering accelerator(dec alpha chip(supposedly but i don't find it..did they implement it in their own cpld? or does mine not have it?)
My cassie is equipped with a MC68LC060RC50 chip.which means this chip is missing the FPU,but has the MMU.
I have ripped the roms and taken pictures,they can be had here: http://www.a4000t.com/cassie/mechscassie.zip Its a big file.. like 26MB
read the small text file in it.There is about 30 pics.
If anyone from amiga_hardware or amiga reousrce wants to use these pictures,please do!
You probabaly should grab it before the a.org resident rom police/lawyers wake up.

Regarding the 68LC060, don't you mean it doesn't have an FPU but does have an MMU?

@karlos
your right, my mistake, no fpu.

Thanks Mechy! :)

I was under the impression that their earlier units had 68040 and their "rendering acceleration" improvement was simply the 68060.

That's not only the impression!! Cassablanca are 68040, if you have the accelerated rendering option MacroSystem replace the 68040 by a MC68LC060RC50.
Recently I had the opportunity to buy a stock of these MacroSystem CPU but I looked for Full 68060 CPU with the latest mask! I was surprise to discover the the Turbo rendering option was only a MC68LC060RC50 CPU
