Oh man, this board is going to grab some really serious cash!
It's already in my watchlist

You never know with ebay. It depends on how many cash rich collectors are around. Surely nobody would buy this for practical purposes.
-
Looks like quite a masterpiece to me. 330mhz could do some real work!

Well, you never know but you can guess and in the amiga world there are usually some serious crazy folks willing to pay very good money for toys like this... already at 532 GBP and still more than 2 days to go!
heh!
Cheers,
Dragster

Wow... I've never managed to get my 060 on my BPPC past 60Mhz, even with a fan attached to it if i stick a 64Mhz crystal in all I get Is a yellow screen... :(
(never attempted to overclock the PPC side though, not sure if it can be done and don't fancy knackering nearly 500 quids worth of kit...)

We meet again!
I'm hopefully sending my Card to Stachu early next year for an upgrade to 330mhz PPC and maybe a little boost on the 060 as well.
By the way, what you describe I bet its the Memory that cannot run at the speed you were trying I think this is why Stachu uses 50ns Simms :)
Steve.

I'm not overclocking the original CPU's.
I'm doing an upgrade: removing old 040 or 060 CPU and installing completely new CPU which can be overclock up to 120MHz. Unfortunately 120MHz is waaaaaay too much for Blizzard PPC - that is why 060 clock is set to 72MHz.
The same for PPC: I do not overclock existing CPU - I'm removing old CPU and installing new PPC CPU rated by Motorola to work with 300MHz, but working at 330MHz without any problems.
All this info is describen in the auction.

Ooops.. Pardon Me, Sorry... No Need To Shout You Know
I was merely say wow... wish I was able to clock my BPPC to those speeds... :)

No Need To Shout You Know
I think he's just trying to keep fools like me from jacking up their BPPCs and frying them.

The close-up picture in the listing clearly shows the 68060 is the E41J mask. The processor is sold as a 50MHz part, but it certainly is capable of 100MHz without issues. 72MHz is not going to stress it at all.
I would imagine that you are more likely to have problems with the card's glue logic before you get anywhere close to the limit of the processor.
-
I'm sure his is fine, but I have no idea what mask mine is, and I'm just the guy to go shopping for crystals to "give it a shot!"

Exactly.
I saw too many turbo boards where users wanted to overclock the cards. Result was a disaster (only some pictures):

And many more.
That is why i highlited that I'm not overclocking, I'm upgrading.

Just check the top right corner of the processor, the mask/revision info should be there. I've no idea what the limit of other masks are though, only that the E41J is ideal for overclocking.
When I had my first 040, overclocking seemed an intriguing idea and I experimented to see how far I could push it (not far, as it happened). Since then I've never bothered overclocking anything. I just want stuff to work and to have a long, productive life :)

EEEK... After seeing those, I'll stick with 60/240Mhz thanks... :)

As you can see it's worth to say something louder from time to time. :)

Which oscillator does the SCSI controller take it's clock signal from? I always assumed it was the same one as the 680x0, but 72MHz sounds higher than I'd expect it to be comfortable with.
-
Well, I did not checked this with oscilloscope, but I'm 95% sure that it's 060 oscillator. And it is working @72MHz without any problem. Checked with 3 different SCSI HDD's.

@ stachu100
On my BPPC 060/240Mhz would it be worth swapping the 60Mhz crystal for the PPC side to a 64Mhz crystal I have, or would this not make much difference. I've often wondered if I should give it a try... :)
-
For 256MHz? It's a power of 2, how can you resist!?
..unless I have no idea how the crystal relates to the processor speed.
-

I know, I know, but I just love to tinker... :)
(I thought it was a power of 4)

(I thought it was a power of 4)
It is.
4^4 = 256
2^8 = 256
It's also a power of 16!

Smart A£$@, Too much for me I'm off to re-heat the last of my Vindaloo, and go to bed and watch some WWE... (we'll somebody's gotta watch it... :) )

Smart A£$
I'm the dumb one in the house, my wife has Masters degrees in math and computer science.
I just plug stuff in!
-
Wow! Only a grand in US $!... I'll take 2 of them!
-
So, for about the price of a SAM440 you can get almost the same AmigaOS4.1.2 performance plus full Amiga 68k compatibility at 72MHz speed.
Not a bad idea for someone wanting to run both AmigaOS3.x and AmigaOS4.1.2 (soon to be released for the PowerUp boards), but I wish Trevor Dickinson would quit bidding up these eBay auction prices so high!
(how are you Trevor?)
Edit: @ScottJClifford, not $1,000 US dollars yet ($865.61 @ Thursdays conversion rate), but it will probably get that high in the end.
