Amiga.Com is back.
Bizarrely, it is exactly the same as before apart from the 'news' about CommodoreUSA abd the 'ecstatic' Barry Altman!
It's even still got the 'Fleecy World' flash graphic. I just thought of XeoNeos next title for AmigaAnywhere - 'Fleecy and the Psycho Taxi Driver'.
Bill McEwen is mentioned in the press release for CommodoreUSA - obviously the deal gave them enough money to cover $70 annual hosting fee.
Strangely, I find myself wishing CommodoreUSA and BillM luck in this venture. It would be supremely entertaining and hilarious if this venture was a wild success. The Commodedore Amiga x86 would be teh true Amiga and AWN/Amigans would be the imposters using a clone OS - nothing to do with teh real and genuine, true and authentic Amiga. Hell, I could even see myself buy a CommodeoreUSA machine myself - they are kinda cute! It would be cool if they sponsored an Amiga flavoured Haiku distrubution - now that would be cool.

Can't say I actually missed them... :P

2 idiots hoping to get rich from the commodore amiga corpse...
What a shame...

Well.... it is Halloween... the other traditional time for the dead to rise. ;-)
-
Careful, I'm not seeing much positivity in this thread ;)
edit: What the hell is Altman smoking. 270,000 actual comments/requests and 5 million page views on his site? LOL! As if, there probably isn't 270,000 people using Amigas/prepared to purchase them in the whole world including classic Amiga users/buyers.
What an absolute nob jockey this Chinese furniture seller come 'saviour of Amiga' is.

I always liked Gramps there in the background with nothing but his beige tower. "In my day we computed without monitors, and we LIKED it!"

Is it just me or does nobody in that family even look related?. It doesn't even look any of the images where taken in the same room!. It's like someone took some scissors to an old Sears catalog and made a collage.....

I always thought Gramps was hiding in the background so noone would notice he was UUdecoding Jpegs of 'Glamorous Grans'.
Am I being totally warped in observing that the girls and that yummy mummy are hot? !!

Tension found the reason, it's up for sale so they needed to make some kind of a presence online.

Another difference is that rather than sharing the access statistic to everyone, now they share full server access and error logs.

Too bad they're back though. I really thought they'd kicked the bucket this time, but no such luck it seems.

To which Grandpa replies:
"Not now! Can't you see I'm trying to get my A1200 mobo to fit into this ****ing Elbox tower and the instructions suck worse than your grandma on our wedding night!"

You can't rickroll someone with that video unless you disguise it as something else.

I forgot...
So fake commodore is now saying they will fully support AROS? Didn't that bonehead trash it before and say they had no plans to support it?
Also, wouldn't it be cool if someone did just pay silly billy and then open source everything and release everything to public domain?

I have a little difficult to understand the hard feelings towards Commodore! Sure, he obviously let himself get provoked by the AW.net muppet show to such a degree that he made some comments that set some people off. But personally (being a guy who isn't really into this trade mark hysteria at all really) thinks the "Commodore Amiga" thing is the coolest thing that happened to the brand since Escom saved it from the bankruptsy! :)
Of course the Commodore Amiga's will run AROS eventually!
Go Commodore! Go Amiga!
:)
-
that's very nice flash animation on the front page, actually
-
I'm not sure why people hate the guy either, maybe I missed something.
It's pretty much like the iMica other than the fact that clusteruk actively gives back to Aros. (which is pretty bad-ass if you ask me)
Commodore is just indifferent so far, neither good nor bad.

She's using the futur CBM IPAD by COMMODORE USA (available in 2011) !?!?

Fake commodore even claims they own the rights to the amiga name as they say: "Amiga® trademark used under exclusive worldwide license by Commodore USA, LLC for its line of AIO (All-In-One) keyboard computers, and is the trademark of Amiga Inc., registered in the United States and other countries."
I thought hyperion owned the rights. Or did Amiga inc lease them back ?
