How many classic Amiga computers do you currently own?
-
I was definitely near the 20 mark at one point, but I think I'm safely in 6-10 range now.

Congratulations. If I'm not mistaken, I took a couple of them off your hands. :-)
-
Correct, hope they're still kicking.

Just the one for me. A1200... Though I do have an A3000 case.
-
I have a CD32, two A1200s, A600 and A500. They are all set up and used regularly.

Um, just one right now........ I sold all my classic stuff to tone007! :)
-
see below (signature) or some AMIGA here: http://www.amiga.org/gallery/images/6006/1_2316_My_AMIGA_Collection_Sept2010.jpg

Currently 6 but one of the A500 (not on the webpage) is in bits and has been like it for years.
Webpage link https://jamram.homeserver.com/Amiga.htm (https://jamram.homeserver.com/Amiga.htm)
Have had Amiga's since about 1986/7 bought my first A500 for £300 it was a 1.3 chipset and was second hand (3 months old), I expanded that out and bought loads of hardware for it until I could afford A4000 brand new in 1993/4 I think. This had a whopping great big hard drive at the time of 450mb & 6 meg of memory (4 meg 72 pin simm cost about £45), I think the price was close to £1100 (I've got the reciept somewhere in the house) and the A4000 is still in working order.
:)

3 at the momement..
My very aging A500 lacks a floppy :( orrhhh. but it stil works. and I really need a PSU for my A590.
My A600 is used on my tv for some games. with kick3.1
My A1200 is used for all kinds of stuff.. mostly games, but also internet and development. But if I ever get an Indivision it might very well bevome my main puter. My wintel is very noisy..
I hope to aquire some more amigas in the very near future.
@cammy >> nice setup.
To all those who have more than one, which is your main amiga?
-
I have a stock A500 (Kickstart 1.3, 512KB chip RAM, 512KB slow RAM) at my folks' place for my dad to play Lemmings, a Kickstart 3.1 A500 (512KB) that was my main Amiga until recently, and I'm looking to sell off, and an A2500 that I recently acquired and am upgrading into a more power-user type configuration (68030 @ 25MHz, 1MB chip RAM, 4MB fast RAM, 800MB hard drive, 2088XT bridgeboard, and Ethernet card.)
-
Mostly 1200's.
3 with 030 accelerators
2-3 stock standard
1 CD32 w/ SX-1
1 A500
They get plugged in and turned on every now and then so I can get my retro fix :biglaugh:
Never had a big box Amiga :(
-
I got 3 working Amigas and one dead A1000. Oh and I gave a dead A1200 to Tone. I use maybe 2 of them pretty regular, they are setup.
-
Nice PIC.. Cammy.. Great to see the Amigas being used regularly!!

I am down to 2, An A1000 2.5Mb floppy only system, and a great A2000, '040, etc., etc. (Tone007 gets around, doesn't he :) )
-
Tone, I hope you gave a nice little ceremony and buried goners. Hate to see your back yard. :(
-
Down to 5.
Had a lot more but i found the more I had the more mess I had to deal with and the less any of them got used.
Decided to pear it down to 2 CSPPC 4000s (one with a soon-to-be-here Mediator), a BPPC 1200, an SX32 CD32 and a 4000 for parts...that's more than enough for my needs and I find that I actually use them all more as a result as it takes a lot less time to maintain them.
I used to go for quantity but figured out it was the thrill of getting the part than meant more to me than actually owning it. The number of items I bought and put straight into the drawer is obscene. Now I go for quality with the 'best of the best' in each and forget the rest :)
-

Can't risk poisoning the wife's garden with plastic and silicon, casualties of war are generally cannibalized for projects and what's left piles up until the pile earns a trip to the scenic landfill in the Amiga hearse.

I'm 15 but had many more, only gave them to a friend .. but if I want come he give me back to me. This does not count extra Amiga Hardware..
And Commodore 8bit its another history!
-
last count was 33 if you count the black cube draco vision... but i am slowly selling some off.
-
Had 5 (4x A500 and 1 A1200) but either sold or gave them away.
Now I have just 1 dead A500 mobo hanging on my shed wall as a sort of memorial.
-
Thanks to a recent acquisition, I'm up to 18 but must admit that one A500 is a bit flaky and one A1200 is complete and fully functional minus the case.
(for the purists, I didn't count the two computers that I regularly run WinUAE on.)
I do use them all quite often, but always gravitate back to using my original 1987 purchased A1000 more than any of the others. No special reason other than it feels like quality time with an old friend.
Regards,
AmigaEd

Well, I have 6 miggies. (I AM counting the A4000T, cuz I Will get it fixed someday....)
Pretty much as the sig. says:
1 A1200 Power Tower
2 A1200
2 A4000
1 A4000T (looking sad)
All are hooked up and used often except for the 4000T, obv. :(
My favorite? The 1200T hands down.....
mechy: 33 Amigas?? Wow..... :insane:
-
How many computers can you use at once?
And, more to the point, can you point to one that you can use to get everything you need done on?
Amigas? At this point, NONE!
One Powermac running MorphOS, some money set aside for a Batami, and relieved to have gotten all that old crap out of the house.

A 2000 that is under my bed, until I either sell it or figure out what to do with it and a 1200 thats used every day.
Hoping to get a second 1200 to be able to play linked computer games, anda 500 for the few games that wont run nice on the 1200
-
see below although they are all moth balled ATM while i get ready to move houses.. but then they will be back with a vengeance since they will have their own room(s) in my new house.. :D
*edit* as in a vintage computer room NOT a room each for them..... :D

Is that a straight row of miggies ? :)
-
Im a half asleep faker, dont own 21 but 8 , but I cant cant change my vote sadly. I do have 21+ classic computers tho..... doh!
-
Current count looks like there are 8 miggies in my home at the moment:
A500, A500+, C= A1200, AT A1200, A2000, A3000, A4000D, A4000T. Two more are due to arrive soon (Another A500 and A500+) for repairs.
(Looks like I should probably update my sig)
-
Currently have an A500, A1000, A3000, A2000, A1200,Cd32, Cdtv & an A4000..
At the moment I'm using the A4000 daily but the rest are all set up just a flick of a switch away...
My 1200 and 4000 are my favourites, had the 1200 from launch and the A4000 for just over a year...
Both were a present from my wife! Although she was my girlfriend at the timr of the 1200...
-
What about scuzz -nearly 100 I guess...
-
Let's see, this should reflect my classic Amiga collection:
A500, A600, A1000, CDTV, CD32 + SX1 + FMV Cart, A3000T, A4000 Desktop and A4000 in a Mikronik tower.
-
Currently somewhere in between 50 and 60...
-
I have an A500 and a CD32. I'm always on the lookout for more, but I have a personal policy of not paying more than $75 for complete systems, so I've passed up a lot of Video Toasters and AGA systems in the $150 - $200 range.
-
I got A500, A500+, A600, 2*A1200, A4000, CD32
-
6-8 A1200 systems in various states, 1 A500, 2 A600, 2 CD32, 2 A4000D, 1 A4000T, 2 A3000, 2 A2000A, 1 CDTV - around 20 all in all it seems. Where does Minimig fit in? :)
-
too many, but mostly use 3000t and 1200 mediator tower for most stuff.
-
I have a CD32, two A1200s, A600 and A500. They are all set up and used regularly.
http://www.amiga.org/gallery/images/5087/2_CammyOffice.JPG ;)
Do you always stand up when played shoot 'em ups? ;)
I own loads, only 4 still work though (A1000,A600,A1200,CD32) the rest are non-economical repairs and when was the last time you saw an A3000 or A2000 go for 'cheap'.
The next thing I am actually after is a Checkmate Digital 'A1500' replacement case for the A500 motherboard...of course I will put an A1200 in there but shhhh that's another project :)
(I've given up on A4000s, the price is OTT for 030s and 040 is too slow and to be honest nobody ever gives you a positive response to the question "can you confirm it has the original HD floppy AND that it formats with zero errors/issues still?" lol so sod that)
-
2x A1200 (towered)
2x A1200
1x A500
1x A500+
1x CD32
See signature ;)
and a ton of other hardware bits :)
-
(2) A1000's, an A3000 and an A2000. I've had several "wedge" Amiga's throughout the years (500/600/1200), but I'd rather make room for the biggies.
I have a dedicated computer desk in my office for an A1000 setup. It's quite functional and sports 2 external 1010's and 2.5mb of RAM. The A3000 is setup in my small gaming room w/ the A2000 currently sitting on the floor. :(
-
I couldn't vote .5 so 0 for me. I have a bunch of mostly non-functional parts. I sold my silicon miggies to guys who like them. Amiga Forever and Aros are good enough for me.
I never had more than 2 Amigas at one time.
-
1 :(
In my hay day (read single life) I had upwqrds of 12 Amiga... Sniff, i miss thise days...

Miss being single or having lots of amigas
or having lots of amigas and lots of amigas :)
-

or having lots of amigas and lots of amigas :)
Oh no! I miss having lots of Amiga COMPUTERS (I love you huney if you are reading this)...
Geez, man. your gunna get me killed asking these questions!!! ;)
-
I think it's around 27 now, still have a few work-in-progress A2000's, but with those added, more than 21 anyway.
Not to mention all extra monitors, joysticks/mice, keyboards and thousands of floppy's.
Ahh, the sig tells most of it, excluding the expansions / accelerator boards :)

Your A500 doesn't mind you sticking in the floppies whenever you like :)
-
I'm sure it would much rather have a big hard one, though. A hard drive, that is.
-

As attractive as those lovely computers are, I don't think there will be many people who will remember any of them in that particular picture! Gee whizz!!!
Here's my collection:
1x immaculate desktop A1200 (and I mean MINT)
1x A1200 Tower with BPPC, Mediator and all the works
3x A1200 motherboards
1x CD32
1x CDTV
1x A2000
2x A500+ machines. One is unwell and receiving treatment!
1x A600 (project machine)
How many is that? Well I won't count the mobos because they're spares really, so I make it 8! :)
AH.
-
5 at the moment :)
A1200 PPC Tower
A1200 030 Desktop
A4000D (040)
A4000 ElboxTower (Needs work)
A600 (020)
-
I have a 20GB hard drive, a couple smaller ones, and a few boxes of disks, full of memories and nostalgia, but alas haven't owned any Miggy's in about five years or so (sold my A500, 1000, and 1200, to pay rent and school bills, many years ago). All you greedy buggers need to stop hoarding, so that prices on ebay will go down, LOL. ;-)
-
I only had a A500 for all of the 'Golden Years' of the Amiga but about 2yrs ago found a A4000 for sale in the local classifieds.... Thus the journey began.
Things really ramped up when I got in touch with a video editing shop where the owner was retiring and picked up a loot for next to nothing.
Let's not even start about the Commodore 8-bit stuff.... playing with the SX-64 right now.
-
I have only my Amiga 500, but with much upgrades.
-
1,5. One complete A4000D in a box in 'storage' and half an A1200 in bits and pieces in various places.
-
a bunch.. (2) A3000s in "production" mode (one an 040/25), plus a couple more "out back" (one a UNIX model), an A2000 w/ flickerfixer and grandslam, and my first A500 ca. 1989, plus a CD32, and a mess of parts that could probably be wangled together to create another one.. I'm actually thinking about selling some stuff soon, so.......
This week I've been replacing the original 3v Vartas with the lithium battery hack.. the original *20 year old* battery from my 040 box looked brand new, no signs of leaking, but I figured I was puching my luck. The one from the A2000 was a little bulgy on one end, but not leaking. Tip: run (or store) them upside down - if the battery leaks the worst thing it can do is hit a card (in the A3000), or the bottom of the drive tray (in the A2000), or maybe just drip on the inside of the top cover.
-
Just two. An A1200HD40 that works, and an A500 that doesn't that I only keep around for the Kickstart license for EUAE.
-
If you've not already seen these beautys in the pic's on my profile enjoy:
-
None. Pegasos 2, two Efikas, Power Mac 2 x 500 MHz soon.
-
3xA1200
2x500
2xA2000
1XCD32
1XA600
-
A4000 towerized
A500 towerized
A500 somewhere in reserve.
-

I think I'd have to pull the chip and tape it to my PC in that case.
-
So if this thread is any indication there's actually only about 14 Amiga users around still, and those 14 people have bought up all the old classics ? Explains why I struggle to find one to buy,... you all have hoarded them all :-)
-
A1200 060 tower
A3000 040
A1200
A600
A500 x 3
A2000 x too many!
-

Where do you live that it's so hard to find a classic Amiga?
-
Australia.
And it's not so much that theyre hard to find, its that it's hard to find stuff that's worth buying for a reasonable price.
I was mostly joking anyway.
-
Uhmm...
Lets see....at one time i used to have....
8 x A500 all kind of configs and revisions
5 x A1200
3 x A4000
3 x A600
2 x A500+
2 x CD32 (pal and ntsc versions)
1 x A2000
1 x A1000
1 x CDTV
1 x A3000
Now...collection has shrinked a lot...but hey...still here kickin´ass!!! :roflmao:
-
How many classic Amiga computers do you currently own?

-
3XA500, 1XA500+, 2XA2000, a CD32, a CDTV and my precious A1200...
-
I just want to thank ten of you for making me feel sane, as I was beginning to have some doubts.
