Title: Best amiga vertical scroll shooter?

The companion to hte other thread. Let's get some nominations and we can do a poll or something.

So for this thread, shoot em ups where the game scrolls up.

Whats your favourite and which did you enjoy ? Banshee ? Wings of Death ? SWIV ? Xenon 2 ?

For arcade quality that would be SWIV. The rest are also rans really.

Arcade conversions never really weathered the jump to a horizontal screen orientation.

I remember playing Battle Squadron on an A500 at...  geeze, what was the name of that store?  Walden Software?  I don't even remember, anymore.  But it was one of the first games I ever played on an Amiga, before I owned one for myself.  My mom used to have to literally drag me out of that store, haha.  Will always have a soft spot in my heart for that one.

Nice to find a video of it on Youtube, just now.  Ah, memories!  :)

Definitely Hybris.  Great gfx, gameplay, and of course a killer soundtrack..  I still smile when I hear the music.  Not many other Amiga games had comparable music IMHO, and Hybris came out in 1988 or so.

Aside from what's already been mentioned, I really enjoyed Action Fighter, Sidewinder, and Plutos.
