Hi All,
I want to use Kickstart v2.04 (37.175) with my Amiga 1000. I am getting a hard drive for it and I kinda' wanted it like it was back in the old days when I had a 2500. Games I would play with v1.3 (with floppies) and the hard drive was totally formatted and used with kickstart 2.04. Anyway, I was looking around and I found ZKick.
What I want to know is do I configure the entire memory first, like it is, then run zkick or should I configure it for $f00000 to $f8ffff and then tell Zkick to use $f90000? If not, what would you recommend.

To use Kickstart v2.04 on A1000, do you have a Kickstart Adapter?
-
No, he's got ZKick! http://aminet.net/package/util/misc/zkick301
I hate softkicking.

Thanks all. Twinkick does not appear to be able to work since it requires RAM at $200000 and my 2 Megs of Flash is not. I would hate soft kicking, too. But I see nothing for sale these days for ROM based kickstarts in an Amiga 1000.

I have not tried this on an a1000, but it works great on my a500 and a2000. I see no reason why it wouldn't work on the a1000.
1. Boot kick 1.3 from disk in normal fashion.
2. Use mkick (see aminet) to softkick 2.04 or even 3.1
this method would not free up the 256k wom (unless mkick has the feature)

Maybe if you bother DJBase he'll find one of his KS ROM adapters for you.

Thank you, tone007. Just hit him up.

... my 2 Megs of Flash is not.
You have 2M Flash RAM in your A1000??

Yes. However, it is not auto configurable. It is part of my Turbo Amiga Cube with a Turbo Amiga CPU (CSA 00920) (http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/turboamiga1000) in it. The RAM Does not auto-configure. When I tried placing it down at $200000 by the AddMem program, it chokes. However when I put it where the original disk said to put it, it works fine.
I might still try to ZKick if I can not get the hardware. Anyway, how would I set the startup-sequence for it? I don't want it to keep on booting 2.04 each time it starts. Is there a way to say if 1.3 boot, if not continue?

Ah, it's not flash ram then, it SRAM...
Could you take a picture and submit it to amiga.resource.cx?

Sure, I'll take a picture for amiga.resource.cx. Also, I meant Fast RAM not Flash RAM. Sorry.
