Title: AmiWest 2010 broadcast
Post by: Ryu on October 18, 2010, 10:06:10 PM
IntuitionBase.com in collaboration with ZiaSpace.com are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the live video stream from this years AmiWest show.

Bill Bosari has for the past few years broadcast from the event and for the past couple we have been hosting the video feed.

This years show should be the best yet with a fantastic guest list.

This years video feed should be even better still with a video toaster in the mix doing video switching and titling.

Make sure you all tune in on http://stream.ziaspace.com:8000

For those that cant view the feed there will also be an audio feed from Bill

A schedule is yet to be confirmed but we hope to have the keynote speech broadcast along with all the other cool things going on over the weekend.

@thread

Since the Amiwest thread has fallen off the page here, and many new items have been added since that thread anyway, I'll direct you to:
Post #1 (http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic_id=32240&forum=16&viewmode=flat&order=0)

This is a consolidation of information taken from all other threads and websites and contains the link to broadcast information, as well as some helpful info hopefully.
We update it several times a day.

All Amiwest news, including time, has now been moved to the thread:

Amiwest 2010 - News (http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=32608&forum=16)

You'll notice a countdown under the heading "News and broadcast information"
Sacramento is UTC-7.

The prior Amiwest thread (http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic_id=32240&forum=16&viewmode=flat&order=0) I linked to contains a lot of good information, but it covered only pre-show news.

Amigakit is doing some real time summary reporting (http://www.amigakit.com/catalog/amiwest.php)

Well at least amigakit (http://www.amigakit.com/catalog/amiwest.php) are up to speed. Amiga was always stronger in Europe. :)

Maybe they had such a good time last night that they are still recovering.

The real stream is up with much better video.

The audio isn't good though, like a bad cable connection or something.

There is 75minutes of video saved at my justin.tv link at the bottom under Previous video.
Not very good quality due to the JTV app on my android phone and its compression, however, I did walk around the room quite a bit, and look at everything.

Some interesting spots:

7mins in - Frieden bros with X1000
9mins in - Matthew and FOL of amigakit
21mins in - Jens takes the camera and shows the new a600 accelerator
25mins to end - Carl Sassenrath presentation

Ach, mince'n'taties... :(

I've been trying on and off all night and haven't seen or heard a dickie bird... :(

Has this been a hoax, or is it me being a total numpty and newbie to this whole interweb-net-thingy malarky and not clicking on the right thing...

Was really looking forward to it, but all I got were messages saying server is down...

Aaaargh, somebody tell me what to click on, all I can see is a still picture of some geezer sitting at a table with his head in his hands... :furious:

A bit like I'm feeling right now... :(

Please someone tell me how I can view this... :)

OK, that was a little late for europeans. Well at least we can watch the reruns on Justin.tv now.

Looks like it has been a good show so far.

Yeah, even here, I gave up on it for a bit and we went shopping.
When I came back and got around to trying again, it was back, but near the end of Carl's talk!!  ;-(

Oh well, looking forward to a youtube (or ??) version I can see/hear on that one and the rest of it..

Hope it's a good show...

Put some photo's up on picassa also.
Alot of them didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but I'm not the best photographer.

I tried to not use flash so much, to avoid bothering people, and there is some ghosting and bad focus because of it. But there are some decent shots too.

I'll add some captions to the photo's later.
