Title: It´s not an Amiga question, but does a A500 power supply works on a Commodore 128 ???
Post by: Effy on December 05, 2003, 06:38:19 AM
I tried to make the title as short as possible :-)
A good friend of mine works at the recycle center and there he found a C128 without power supply, I know the connector of a A500 power supply is the same and that a C128 power supply can not boot up a A500. but does it work the other way ?? He does have got a A500 and A1200T at home ... if not, then the C128 may end up under a bulldozer  :-o

NO!

The A500 PSU gives +12VDC in the pins where the  C-128 expects 9VAC.

You might not break anything, but it probably won't work.

Have your buddy sell the 128 on ebay, I'm sure it'll find a new home at some enthusiast.

That's why I asked it in the first place. I did try once to boot up an A500 with a C128 power supply but it refused to work and didn't know why ...
