Title: Commodore Laptops
Post by: carnid on October 12, 2010, 05:48:21 PM
I am interested in buying a Commodore netbook / laptop: http://commodorecorp.com/C901PDetails.html.  Does anyone here have any experience with them - if so are they any good?  Is there a dealer in the US that sells them here?

I looked and don't have a way to move my thread.  I had seen other Commodore related threads here and assumed it was OK.  If a moderator could please move this to another more suitable forum it would be greatly appreciated.

That's low spec for a netbook, pass on it.

You can get 667mhz bus on the Atom N450. Wireless N and bluetooth option. Also if you wait a little while they will all come with HDMI instead of (fairly old) VGA out. Also check the screen quality some of them a quite nasty - obviously older models that they are still trying to dump.

Looks about the same specs and very similar case to my own netbook, which is around the same specs as the Acer Aspire One, so Aros should run very well on it, and provided the chipset is Atheros you could use it to surf the web wirelessly with OWB.

It is quite low-spec, however if the price is right it might be worthwhile and they look pretty cool :)  I tried contacting them a while ago and didn't hear back from them, which is why I was wondering if anyone here knew anything more about them.  I think if they were compatible they would make a nice AROS machine or even for a WinUae setup.

I've got a couple of their netbooks, they work but aren't super high quality or anything.
