Title: What games/software is most fun for kids?
Post by: mousehouse on October 11, 2010, 12:14:15 PM
After having resurrected my Amiga the kids want to play games too, but they are having difficulty mastering the quick-paced platform games.

So far the best "hit" has been Pacman Deluxe, which they like playing - so I started looking for other games that look nice, have a high playability and are fun for the kids (5 to 7 years old). Lion King is already quite hard and Aladdin does not want to run on my rig using WHDload - haven't figured out why...

Any tips for good, fun and easy games for kids?

Wonderboy, one of the many arcade car racing games and super hang on. Bonecruncher, Lemmings, wings of fury.
I'm sure someone will have many others.

The old Dizzy games? And games of that ilk from Codemasters, Mastertronic, etc. Some could be C64 only, so use a C64 emulator :-)

Depending on their age, some simulation games could be fun - SimCity, etc.

I liked platformers - Ghosts and Goblins, Fire and Forget, Rick Dangerous and the like. Also Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies.

For younger people maybe games like Postman Pat and Noddy's Big Adventure.

And don't forget the fun that DPaint can give :-)

Thanks for the tips!

Could not find Noddy in my floppy collection or online - but enough new games to try to get going ;-)

James Pond (Robocod), Traps 'n' Treasures, Hunter, Whizz Kid, Push Over, Cool Spot are all good games which have pretty relaxed playability.

If the Lion King is too hard try Bubble n Squeek & Super Frog.  Little hands can play those better.  Had the same issue.
