Hello Fellow Amiga fans!
Ive got a problem with my Blizzard 1230 mk4 card.
It seems my pcmcia port doesnt work when the blizzard card is installed in my A1200.
When i remove the card and restart the A1200 the pcmcia port works fine. / also with my other expansion, a blizzard 1200/4, the pcmcia port also works fine. Im talking about a PCMCIA2CF card with a 1gb CF card.
The blizzard 1230 mk4 has an FPU and uses 64mb 60 ns ram.
The A1200 is a Amiga Technologies version with 3.1 roms.
Does anyone have a clue why a supposed pcmcia friendly Blizzard card doesn' t want to be pcmcia friendly on my system? Do i need to apply a patch? I also tried to enable maprom jumper and switched the 60/70 ns jumper with no results.

You may need to install a patch but i have forgotton now. I had a Blizzard 1230 MK 4 card with 64Mb ram fitted on my Commodore A1200 with both Kickstart 3 and 3.1 and it worked fine with PCMCIA.

It is not PCMCIA unfriendly, something else must be amiss. What motherboard revision do you got? Is it a C= or Amiga Technologies A1200?

It is a Amiga Technologies A1200.

Never had the problem with this and have four Amigas with the card and have ethernet and squirrels attached. Only the Apollo causes the problem. I would suggest its more a problem with the CF...
With the ethernet PCMCIA I have to run my card reset tool to make the card work. Can't think that would be the problem though.

yes there is a fault with amiga 1200 mbs well ones before Amiga Technologies A1200
that l know of l had 2 my motherbaords fited with few mods to fix this.
it should be okay you take card in and put it back again or reset it . used to be if you had over 4 megs ram on pcmcia slot with ram card . but your talking using it as hard drive
you can use them un mod l think know from memory one the mb still did after being done
l cant been issue though as l used squirrel and a pcmica network card am sure your cf card is fine thought

there is patch on the aminet too so try that oh on the 030 cards l thought they didnt have that issue as l did have 040 card know with just ram card
http://aminet.net/search?query=pcmcia+patch
also look up cnet.device as bruce abbot wrote that a kiwi too he moded my amiga1200s as well read the docs it should mention as well

I'm not sure if everyone else here has already solved your problem, but if I were you I would check your Startup-Sequence and see if you have these two commands added:
http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/CardPatch
http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/CardReset
If you don't have them already, install them and try. Also make sure you're not already running some sort of patch that you may have used with your old accelerator card, perhaps a patch that reduces RAM to 4MB when the PCMCIA slot is in use or something. If something like "MagicMem" is there, remove it (or put a ; in front of the command to disable it) and try booting.

When you run the card-reset tool you will likely get an error asking you to suspend or reboot. Just suspend and all will be fine. I run mine from an icon on the workbench.

Thanks i will try using these. I' ll also check for some sort of " magicmem" line in the Startup sequence. Although i dont think its messed up or something since i use quite a fresh install of ClassicWB ADVSP, and i didnt apply any startup sequence editing patches yet. I hope this Cardpatch/reset tool will work!
