Title: How to make AROS look like AmigaOS 3.9 ?
Post by: Gulliver on October 09, 2010, 03:31:06 AM
I am trying give AROS some decent tinkering. But, the first thing I need is to feel at home.

I downloaded and burned the IcAROS distribution, and now, besides changing icons and the backdrop, how do I make Intuition (or whatever it is called on AROS) look like AmigaOS3.9? I want the same old default window gadgets and color that Workbench 3.9 has.

Thanks in advance.

Why would you want to do that?  That would be like making Windows 7 look like GEOS 64.  But whatever suits you.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

It is not about beauty, which as you mentioned is subjective, it is about making AROS look like AmigaOS, something which is much more familiar for me.

I feel ya, though I have no answers either. :/

Speaking of which, I wish Haiku would bring back BeOS' old Amiga theme.

Try the AROS Exec forum.  Someone there is bound to know how to do it.

Thanks, I will take a peek at that forum.

PS: Haiku rocks!

Don't aros come with pre installed themes that you change via wanderer or zune prefs?

You can choose many themes from the prefs drawer including OS4.0 and Classic.
