I`m very new on the Amiga,What I like to know is how can I add More sounds I have been on aminet and went into Mods-Music Modules downloaded overdose.lha and unarc then get a icon sound mod.party_on_dudes_ii and when I click on it all I get is Unknown data type for mod.party_on_dudes_ii. does this mean I need software to run it? Just a recap I`m trying to add more sound, in my sounds preset.

Hmmm, sort of... If it's a MOD file, it's not a simple sound file. It's more like a MIDI file with the instrument sounds embedded in it. If you have a MOD player on your system, try opening it with that.
The "Unknown datatype" error is because the system doesn't have a matching datatype for that file format. If you look in the drawer Workbench:Devs/Datatypes you'll see a list of datatypes. Basically, if you get a datatype for a particular file format and install it, the Amiga can then understand that format, for example JPEG and Wave datatypes for opening .jpg images and .wav sound samples. However, MOD files are a little more complicated and work best in a dedicated player. You can find plenty on AmiNet:

atom-ant: If all you need to to do is add more sounds to your Presets/ DIR, just copy the sounds to your Presets drawer (using e.g. DOpus 4.xx, is easiest) What specifically do you want to do with sounds on your miggy? Do you want random error sounds? Different sounds for system events? (like inserting/removing a floppy) At any rate, Aminet has lots of progs. that help. (Although it gobbles RAM, for a while I had the 'THX' sound play when Workbench loaded :) )
As for MODS, everyone has different opinions re: players, my personal fave is EaglePlayer2.01 (Just Google for the website+keyfile, it's avail. from the developer...) I also like HippoPlayer...
