Hello to everybody on this forum!
It's been a long time since I last visited, and I'm really glad it's still here. My question is this:- is the indivision a4000/cd32 scan doubler/flicker fixer any good, as I would like to stick one in my a4000 desktop machine???
Kind regards Lee

They are really good, have not had any issues with the three I have purchased.

I use one on my A4000D and I'm really happy with it, it fits very well in my desktop case. I did a small review in spanish last year (automatic translation is horrible but you may watch the pictures): http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=es&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=es&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Falmogavar.blogspot.com%2F2009%2F06%2Fflickerfixer-indivision-para-amiga4000.html Keep in mind automatic translation seems to ignore negatives and doesn't recognize subjects correctly.

I had some corruption in higher resolutions with mine, but for lowres games and demos it works great.

I've been trying to find one (new) for a while - but somehow they don't seem to be available. Has the creator given any dates on when a new batch might be available? Or is he too busy on the new 030 cards for the A1200 ;-)
-
Its a shame that those Indivisions dont work with the A4000T because of the different orientations of the chips. Picasso IV solved all my A4000T problems though :P
-
Do they have any on board graphics mem, and can they also cope with the early amiga wb startup screen???
Cheers Lee

Indivision is not a graphics card, it doesn't give you any additional video modes, only allows you to use the original Amiga modes on any VGA CRT/LCD display, hence there is no memory on it (no need, Amiga chip memory is still used).
And yes, it can cope with any Amiga mode including the early startup screen.

I am on the same boat, waiting for theat Indivision for the 4000T

Thanks for that koshman!
I've been away from the amiga scene for quite a while...
And am currently restoring my amiga 4000,
Replaced all the caps in the power supply with panasonic low esr 105°c types!
Next I'm gonna start with the sm caps on the mobo, there is a bit of damage by the rtc/calendar circuit, I can change the time and date, but not store these settings!
Have also removed the battery just to be on the safe side!!!
Kind regards Lee...

Have you checked out amigakit? perhaps they still have some units in stock: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=864

Not strictly true. It does have memory onboard for the trickery it uses to double the frequencies.
The memoery isn't available to the Amiga however.
And it does support screenmodes not available on the amiga. The highGFX modes
-
You can hardly say that highGFX is not available on Amiga when it's actually produced by Amiga and it works on many displays without Indy and at least on one other scandoubler. It has nothing to do with Indivision - that only allows you to display something that Amiga can output all by itself.

*edit* I think it DOES support more screen modes like a wide screen mode?
-
The current Indivision AGA does not make the Amiga create new screen modes that it could not do by itself, it allows the screen modes that would normally be non-viewable by most monitors converted to screen modes that are viewable.
If you are having problems with the A4000 AGA version with some of the screen modes, there is a mod that can be done.
It's a 1K resistor between +5V and the CCK line which raises the peak to peak amplitude of the clock signal to over 4 Volts, Without it the signal swing is 3.4V.

I need to do this as well but have not since the issue has not been very bad but I have noticed on my A4000 in the real hires screen modes (28 mhz screen modes).
I guess Jens has said this is an official fix.

Dammit!
Just rang my local dealer who told me the a4000 indivision won't be in until Christmas!!!
Oh well, that'll be a prezzie to myself then won't it???
