I'm doing some experimenting with a media PC and could use some advice on awesome games that com on one single disc, and that can be played with a one-button joystick (going to use the remote for control).
Speedball 2 is a given, as are the two first Lotus games. Any other games I need in this collection? B)

Doesn't that describe nearly every platformer made?
Stunt Car Racer, Firepower
-
SWIV, Nitro...

Wings of fury
Switchblade
Silkworm
R-Type (1 and 2)
Rick Dangerous (but be prepared to hurl the remote out the window)
Pang
Obliterator
Ork attack (PD)
Lethal Weapon
Turrican 3
Warzone

Hybris !

North & South, Vroom, Master Blaster

north and south needs the shift key to switch between units when in combat mode :)
-
That might be, but it's possible to finish it without ever touching the Shift key :)

R-Type (1 and 2)
I'm pretty sure these need a second button to control the power-up.

You can just hold down the button. It does play much nicer with a second button though

How on earth did this thread get so long without mention of Shadow of the Beast?

I think he was talking about "good" games.

SOTB is not a one disk game.
-
I'd have to play a platformer with a remote control! Something like populous or megalomania or sim city or settlers would be better. Can't multi-disk games be whdloaded or something?
-
How about Blob?

SOTB isn't particularly good, either.

Qix and most all of the other Sega conversions.
Bubble Bobble too and Rambo III come to mind.
